The system is based on a symmetric scheme consequently through all the sequences.
Next step in a basic sequence is normally the variant with stronger shape sorts
(as mentioned in the diviation scheme
there are three sorts of shapes only).
Higher steps are a description of the shape sort
itself in the given pointrange with a margin of 4 points. In the pointrange
itself we use a minimum and maximum, each with a margin of 1 point.
In case the margin of a pointrange is 5, the two highest points are a maximum.
See pointrange diviation scheme.
All as a guide because f.e. Jack/Queen singleton does not count, you have a
good or poor card. But basicly you are committed to restrict yourself to the
point ranges. I will explain why. In case R asks for your complete distribution
in a certain type, does a slemtry, asking for your AKQ values in other suit(s),
knowing his own values and yours, he can count that f.e. the only points left
within your pointrange if he has AKJx in both majors must be a Queen in your
major tripletons.
Same applies for so called "soft" values (to much QJ in the suits
ànd no A/K or AQ, KJ or KQJx besides that), which I count as a
minimum too.
In case shape sort and pointrange is known the next step is the only forcing
bid for the R. In further bidding cheapest bids are relays too usually.Normally
from the start of a sequence the third relay is forcing at least to game. In
balanced shapes after 2 forcing relays, 1st step is exact distribution asking,
2nd step is asking for stops, 3rd step is asking to bid controls (you can ask
for AKQ values after complete distribution is known too, but there are situations
that looking for an important control will be better,
see working outs in the shapes chapters (as a preview see appetizer
page)
In case 13+ against 6-11 balanced same but depending on the suit, sometimes
there is an adjustment in the scheme in a logical way.
In case 13+ against 12+ cheapest and other steps are of course forcing.
After a Pass (13+) both partners start the sequence with telling their pointranges
and in case of reaching a certain pointrange if he has a singleton/void shape
(at the same time in which suit singleton/void or which Extreme one) or a balanced
one. Balanced ones with the lowest bids possible so that the balanced hand still
maintains R in case partner has the lowest possible pointrange-level
for a singleton/void shape. If not , the unlimited hand remains the R.
Resulting that the weaker hand tells in an earlier stage his kind of shape in
a sequence and there is a balance between the two point-ranges regarding the
fact when to tell your partner I have a S/void shape which has a higher pointrange-level
than yours. So the shape and maximum pointrange of the more stronger hand (=R)
is unknown to the opponent.
Underneath
the main Basic sequences after Pass (13+) -
in Brown =R (Relayer)
in Blue = RR (Responder to Relayer)
lateron the R can become RR , then
coded in black
and automatically RR
becomes R ,and coded
in green
and finally:
R can become again/return to RR
, then in bright blue
and automatically RR becomes again/returns
to R , and coded in
grey

In
case there was not a cheapest bid (= the strongest one) in the basic sequence,
partner can
still partly describe his limited in pointrange singleton/void Delta/Extreme
shape opposite the given limited balanced one but don't do it, even with a maximum,
with a Ace-less hand because:
- you are already 1 complete level higher in the Delta scheme as usual
- therefore RR must be able to break the relay sequence for control-asking etc.
,ask for more controls or exact distribution
- or without breaking the relay to ask for full distribution.
- in case of an 0-3 answer on Ace asking, specially if that bid is the trumpf
suit, he will be in big trouble
- see example
