In above way it is possible to end on a low level with weak hands opposite any 4333/4432.
Compared with a natural
system:
15-17: you can play 2 in any suit
18-19: if partner's bid was weak , normally 2
rebid, here again with 18 you can play 2 in any suit, with 19 mainly too
20-22: you can play a 2-level
/
/
or a 3-level ![]()
Regarding the 1
= 13-18 4333/4432 and then PASS with 4333/4432
0-7/8 p. (up to the opponent what to do)
It might be look weird,
but it brings pressure to bear upon the opponent. Do we have 13 against 3/4?,
do we have a 3/2 or 2/2, 4/2
fit? Do they have to balance? So more or less a second Fert on a higher level,
although opponent knows highest number of points = 25 / = average 17, and more
willing to double you. But will it be wise? Up to them.
What can you loose if opponent
passes?
A 18 opposite a 7/bad 8 pointer with a 4333/4432, I prefer to stay low.
Missing a Major 4/4 fit in a 13-14 opposite 6-7, I can live with it.
Bad
fit: the chance that opponent has a flat balanced hand is high. So you will
still play a kind of NT. In case they have a 5/3
fit and the majority of the points, they will make at least 2
.
So 1 down vulnerable
will not harm you.1NT
will be difficult too.
If we are doubled: escape
scheme if pointless (will follow) with the opportunity to play 1
If we are doubled after
an escape:
Opponent has to balance if it might be game for them. If game do we go down
enough?
The range of the Pass opener is large (13-18), and from partner too ( 0-7/8)
On the 2-level, as mentioned,you
will be able to play any suit with a minimum of a 5-2 fit.
So I think the pro's are better than the cons. But practice will learn.
- up -
4x
bids are the 7222 with the Queen in the 7-card suit
regarding the 7222 with
QJ in 7c-suit, hidden
in the 2
bid: after the [2
] relay jump to 4
level in your 7c.suit Major
by 4
for
-suit
and 4
for
-suit.
The minor
by using the 3
answer and after a relay, bid 3![]()
As an alternative
use again the double transfer (but the 2
bid maintains the 4333/4432, allowing R after the 2
bid, to bid 2
but hearing from RR a 5+card by this double transfer to break the relay, that
means sign off! This can happen in case of a 23-25p. 4333/4432 shape.
Notice that the 7222 can not be so specified because you will need the 4
bid etc. for the
-suit. Disadvantage is the very high level for the
-suit
slab answers for above weak ranges (3/4-5 and the 0-3 )will get
a special treatment (including location of the value)
- will follow -

After 3 So,- not because of above hands - , is your hand is suitable for an Extreme-shape call: do it; balanced hand will become relayer and because of the restrictions of that Extreme hand (5 card issue), he will be able to reach the right contract in a better way. |
