We make a diviation for balanced shapes and shapes with a singleton or void (shortness).
BALANCED : from 4333 up to 7222, so in any case at least a doubleton in each suit
SINGL. /
VOID : -DELTA from 4441 up to 7330
-EXTREME from 74, 65, 8 up to 13
(1 suiters option: -DELTEX scheme within the Delta openings)
Because
of the symmetric building of the system, the Balanced, Singleton Delta and Singleton
Extreme schemes are used through whole the bidding sequences consequently. So
you have to practise 3 schemes for the diviations only.
When I refer in a sequence - although it can be sometimes on a higher or other
level - regardingless the pointrange
to f.e.

the opening
keeps always it's same and unique meaning. As illustration already:
[in Brown = the R(elayer), in Blue = RR
(responder to relayer) lateron the R can become RR
, then in black]

After [Pass] = 13+ and a
0-5, the pass
opener R
can ask for extreme shape
too in case he is strong
After [Pass] = 13+ and a
12+, both partners can describe their strong Extreme opening by the standard
bid of f.e.

,
each time within a 4 points range, but balanced hand will be the R.Same
applies for the Delta Singleton Openings.
Before it leads too far at this stage I would like to continue with the subject of this chapter:

In
other cases the diviation for balanced distribution types is:
- 4333,4432
- each suit 5332,5422, 6322 (so no specification for 5332 poor/good suit)
- 7222 with indication poor/good suit OR closed with information about the side
value
It depends on the total sequence if a suit itself is mentioned or through a
two/three-way bid. But all will be done consequently.
(f.e. 13+ opposite 12+ balanced a 2
bid = Majors or 4333/4432, 2
bid = minors, 7222 in both bids, see
basic sequences and
balanced general set-up.).
Re:
poor/good:
good = 2 of 3 tophonours (or if you like 3 of 5). I prefer 2/3 because of better
slem investigation.
