Why 'Dutch Courage'?
Around 1995 I disvovered the Internet. I got an email adress and March 1996 I opened my first 'home page' at Geocities (October 28, 2009: RIP).GeoCities asked me to give my page a nickname. I am Dutch and I had the courage to open an own page, so the name for my home at Capitol Hill 1557 was found: Dutch Courage.
I know what you think: This is bravery, inspired by drinking. But that's NOT true. We have to blame the British for your thoughts. Some four ages ago the British and the Dutch fought about who should Rule The Waves. From 1652 to 1784 there were even four wars between our countries. Both lost. And because the British couldn't win, they tried to blame the Dutch by using 'Dutch' for everything that could be wrong.

Being a journalist, the Internet was very useful for work and enjoying my interests. In course of time the number of my pages at the Internet were growing steady. I used it archiving (selected) articles and features, started a webcam site, wrote two books: Arnhem Spookstad and Rees: De verzwegen deportatie, celebrated 100 jaar Apeldoornse Courant (that soon after that merged and changed its name in De Stentor) and started a bookshop at the Internet.
