Have to ask...
The Arcadia Clan
These are the pictures that have been made for me, of me or of my characters by various kind people who's sites you really wish to visit. Click the thumbnails for a full version of the picture in question.
Consider this a commissioned pic: Jessie pleaded me to give her something to draw, as she was bored. Given her passionate dislike of Grey, and her love for Trill, both from "Fjern's Folly", I figured she'd like the request "Trill hurting Grey". The pleasure truly shows. Picture by Jessie.
Well, you see, DE didn't know what to do with me, so she put a lamp shade on my head to make me into a lamp. Guandalug then saw fit to jam my tail in an electrical outlet. The results were picked up by lurker Spike, who did an absolutely terrific job on this surprise recreation! Picture by Spike.
Jessie made me request this! Jessie made me do it! She was bored in class and sketched an unfinished version of this picture of Trill and Armageddon, then changed Armageddon's design. To ever see the finished version, I had to ask for it. Can you believe it? ;)
What's actually more unbelievable is that she managed to fit the two in the same picture. Quite a feat. Picture by Jessie.
The idea for this picture suddenly hit me, a few weeks before the Gathering 2001, for which I will go/went to America, depending on when you read this. I asked Jessie to draw it, as I naturally failed horribly. Picture by Jessie.
A picture on which Jessie worked extra hard on the shading. I have seen the original and the scan does not do it justice. This is me in dragon form enjoying a quiet nap with my beloved pet sheep Shee. He seems a bit uncomfortable though, the poor thing. Shee must not be feeling very well. Picture by Jessie.
Before I wrote "Demon's Eye", I was a bit concerned that my white female gargoyle character Sirius might be seen as a copy of Syrin's white female gargoyle character Siryn. Luckily they turned out very different personality wise, but I did ask Syrin for permission beforehand, to be on the safe side. Apparently, she'd been wanting to draw Sirius ever since. Picture by Siryn, who, last I saw her, still intended to colour it.
A finished version of an earlier picture with just Jessie in it. While Jessie the artist likes DeLancy, Jessie the anthro-wolf seems less pleased to be saluting before him. Picture by Jessie.
This picture has a history. Beedoo!, or rather, the owner of this dragon character, was rushed to the hospital where they removed a brain tumor. Quite startled, a lot of people started writing her letters with drawings in them, and I figured nothing would make her laugh more than an attempted drawing of mine among all these beautiful renditions. So, forced by Jessie to do this, I set out to write her a letter and include this. Luckily, Beedoo! seemed to recover quite well and after a while I got a thank you letter in return which contained this drawing, sort of a sequel to the one I sent her. Picture by Beedoo!.
I've been to the 2001 Gathering of the Gargoyles! I had a great time there. I also met Kythera who, after closing ceremonies, made this cartoon. I can't imagine what prompted her to do that. *l* Picture by Kythera of Anevern.
After having drawn me in a silly position, Kythera then made a far more noble version of my RP head. I think the previous one is more realistic though. ;) Picture by Kythera of Anevern.
Apparently, this idea just hit Jessie, and she drew it before we came to visit her in person. Shee is the sheep I keep as a very anxious and nervous pet in chat (can't imagine why). Keebler is from my Arcadia Clan related stories. Lastly, it seems to be inspired by the following quote from "The Wolf and the Sheep":
"If you insist I could speak with a number of sheep..." he raises his hooves to draw imaginary quote-marks in the air as he says the word 'speak', "however, you must understand, sheep language consists of little more than concepts such as 'food', 'not food', 'angry' or 'scary thing'."
I think the result is pretty funny. Picture by Jessie.
When we visited Jessie, she invited me to play a racing game with her on her Playstation. Just looking at the picture, can you tell who was winning? This was drawn during a long, long car ride. Picture by Jessie.
This picture, too, was drawn during the forementioned long car ride, on a bumpy road no less. It pictures Jessie's general attitude towards my attempts to crack as many dog jokes as I could. Picture by Jessie.
NOTE: No, she did not really hit me with a water bottle.
Yet another picture drawn on the long car ride, from a scene from "Fjern's Folly" that I'd written a few days earlier. Soldier Perry brings dragon beedoo! to a halt in a most unconventional manner. Jessie was not pleased with the result, especially when it comes to the placement of feet and chin. Picture by Jessie.
Jessie seems to be convinced that we (Kessalia and I) too, can draw. Kessalia maybe, but not me! Undetered, she drew Polly's head and made us copy it. Mine's on the right, Kessalia's on the left. Picture by Jessie, Kessalia and Arno.
This is a bit silly to include, but Jessie send me a phone card to use to call my mother while I was in America. To indicate it was mine, this was drawn on the piece of paper wrapped around it. Thanks Jessie! :) Picture by Jessie.
Long ago, christmas 2000, Kiva sent me this picture to go with my christmas card. I never had access to a scanner to scan it till recently, and here it is, for the world to see and admire. Picture by Kiva.
This christmas card was sent to me in 1999. Even back then I was teasing Jessie's anthro-wolf character over and over again with doggy jokes. This one was inspired by a Lassie reference. Took me a long time to get it scanned, but here it is... Picture by Jessie.
Luna wanted to draw Nooit. She even wanted my permission, as if she needed any! *l* Anyone's free to draw any of my characters as long as I don't hate their guts to begin with. Anyway, this is Luna's version of Nooit. I don't know why, but I think he looks like he lives on Discworld for some reason. :) Picture by Luna.
While I was in the USA for the Gathering I met, among others, Zoe, Luna and Weasel. They gave me a CD with the oddest collection of music on it, and they had even drawn a cover for it. This is said cover, and quite funny it is too. I am very happy with it. *l* Picture by Zoe.
A dramatised representation of events that took place during my stay in the USA. Let us have lunch, we spoke, driving through the mountains. Let us not use that table in the full blaze of the sun, but let us sit in that shadowy patch of grass, we decided. Let us evacuate from this thick cloud of gnats was the next thing we collectively thought. We ate in the car. Picture by Jessie.
Sitting at work, bored, Jessie had only a red pen, a black pen and a yellow post-it note. From it she created something amazing. I love that expression on Armageddon's face too. Picture by Jessie.
A picture of an RP that took place in the Station 8 Gargoyles Chatroom. MAui got turned into something rather quaint and scary. Beedoo! is looking on, as am I, with a little Jessie hiding in my manes. In the back, Robert is swinging from a rope, coming to MAui's rescue, the poor sob. Picture by Jessie
I requested enlightenment in a certain matter. I asked for people to put one of those flashing light bulbs over my head concerning the definition of anime. Kiva obliged in a very strange way. Picture by Kiva.
On this picture I have absolutely no comment... Well, okay, so I was in a bit of a strange mood. Picture by Jessie.
I don't quite remember what this was about. I think, however, that this was about my bias against shots, mainly when they are to be applied to my own person. I think Kiva has a bit of a sadistic streak. Picture by Kiva.
This is actually a sketch for a picture Jessie never finished. It is a mechanical bug from the story 'Fjern's Folly'. The original picture was to be of captain DeLancy and Beedoo! surrounded by them, but, well, she never drew in the bugs. Perhaps I should pester her into finishing it. The above picture is the result of my description combined with an earlier sketch, the below is how she originally envisioned it herself. Picture by Jessie.
A more or less requested picture by Jessie. Jessie, Dubble, Beedoo! and Arno in dragon form taking advantage of Halloween to, for once, fit in with ordinary people. No one will ever know those are not costumes. With a guest appearence by Shee the sheep. Picture by Jessie.
A strange thought that came up in a conversation with Kessalia, regarding characters from my stories. What if Venn was to do community service work as secretary for the Arcadian Army Ward Division? Of course, she could only work at night, when Perry runs the place... Picture by Jessie.
Jessie 'surprised' me (thought not very well. ;) ) with this great drawing of the wyvern, a character from a story I intend to write once I finish the current one. Given the lack of actual information she was burdoned with, she came pretty close and, again, changed the images in my head significantly. My only real gripe involves the wings, which should be intact. Picture by Jessie.
