Happy New Year!

It is the year 2006. Out with the old, in with the same old, same old! 2006 is already shaping up to be quite a year, and it has only just started. And that's just the world itself, I haven't even begun talking about my year!

Last year has been a very full and busy year, and I can't really say that it has always been a pleasure. What 2006 will do, who knows, but I don't expect things to change instantly just because some arbitrary number has been incremented. I do hope, though, that the next year will see a bit more peace and quiet for me. That way I can concentrate a bit more on this site, on my friends and perhaps even on some stories I might want to write when I've got the energy again.

But until then, at least I managed an update. In with the same old, same old!

Some Fun Things

During my absence there are a number of things that I came accross that I considered pretty funny. And, of course, I have forgotten most of them. However, there are a few that I remember, so here they are:
  • Ugly Hill - This webcomic is one of the most entertaining that I have come accross in recent times. Worth a look. There is not much of an archive yet, so it is quite possible to start from the beginning.
  • Sepuku Comics - The only thing I have been reading here so far is the comic "Nemesis", which updates every monday with a full page. A murder mystery tale set on an Earth where Superheroes are common. The art is amusingly cartoony, which clashes oddly with the darker undertones of the story.
  • Girl Genius - Familiar to some, but not to me, this comic is the work of Phil and Kaja Foglio. Originally it was only available in print, but now the rest of the world can enjoy their work too. Go on and enjoy it. It's got mad scientists, you know!
  • The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny - Okay, so by now this flash animation has probably already done the rounds. I even heard that the music was featured on the Dr. Demento show. Still, for those who haven't seen it yet: The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny!
  • Madness - Madness is a series of flash animations where a stick figurish man violently beats up and shoots other stick figurish men Matrix style. The movies are okay and clever in places, though too much of it tends to get old. I still link, though, because you will also find a flash game where you can do the beating up and shooting yourself. The game is pretty well made and fairly addictive. It is rather hard, though, and I really advice that you play the downloadable version for a much smoother playing experience.
That should keep you lot busy for a while. And when you're done, maybe you can have a look around the site. Have fun!
