Q U O T I N G C O M P E T I T I O N

These Chat Quotes pages were not the first to be made, nor have they been the last. As early as the days I first entered chat, back in 1997, people had been saving their precious moments for posterity. Most of these pages have remained small, as one would have to be insane to manage and maintain any collection of chat quotes containing more than 20 or 30 of them. They drift, or, in some cases, drifted around around in the corners of the internet on Geocities or Angelfire sites. These other pages, the competition, have been the direct inspiration for these pages: nothing was more enjoyable than to read through these captured moments, except perhaps finding your own name among them. So I gave it a try as well... Below is a list of the competition for as far as I am aware of their existance. I am starting out small, but I know there are more, even if they are no longer being updated. If anyone reading this knows of the location of any quotes pages not in the list, no matter how small or dead, please let me know! I can't do it all by myself and I would like this list to have some substance. THE COMPETITION: Crushed Competition (Archive now hosted on this site): Ithica's Quotes Competition Yet To Crush: Lauren's Amazing Quote Book - Quotes from Station 8 as well as AIM, ICQ, MSN and Real Life, maintained by Jess. It now features Station 8 quotes in colour and a little flash animation on the splash page. But I shall crush her yet. Gorebash never called her quotes poofy! The Miniclan Quote Book - I suppose it is not direct competition, but the Miniclan shares roots with Station 8 and is close enough to be mentioned.
