Smurf's life story
When I was a little baby about 6 weeks old I think, my family didn't want me. So terrible as it sounds they dumped me out on the street. I was only a little toddler and I didn't know which way to turn too. I was looking around and through a window I saw two big red cats. Just sitting there in the sunshine. They seemed pretty nice and they reminded me of my mommy. I tried to catch there attention but they didn't really notice me. Don't think I could yell that hard yet. All of a sudden someone picked me up and I heard her say "ohhhhhhhhhh look at this little Smurfy" She took me inside and I met the two big red cats. At first they were a bit shocked but that didn't take very long. "Ben" the biggest of the two put his paws around me and gave me a good cleaning. That felt so good ! The other red cat was called Peukie and he always played with me, he taught me all there is to know about playing. I heard my two new masters talking about me, they said that they didn't really want a new cat. They put up signs and asked around if anybody had lost a little grey cat. Well I knew better, nobody lost me, I was dumped. I did my very best that they would love me and it worked, they kept me.
Now I haven't really been very lucky in my life. I started of wrong and somehow bad luck seemed to follow me. When I was a couple of months old my tail got stuck in a door and I broke it. That really hurt ! The vet was afraid that it might have to be amputated but very slowly it got better. From then on my balance wasn't all that great anymore. One day I fell from a chair and I broke a small bone in my knee. Wow that really hurt ! I healed again. I was playing outside one day and one of my nails got caught up in a wired fence. Another time outside I got stung by a bee. My master ran to the neighbour to get some vinegar to put my paw in. That helped a bit. Went pretty well for a couple of years. Peukie died of cancer and I was really very sad about that.
One day my master told me that well were going to move. My masters got a divorce and Ben stayed there and I moved away with Mandy. I was again very sad but there was nothing to be done about it. I know Mandy loved me very much and I didn't want to leave her alone. She needed me.
So we moved to Diemen. It took me a while to get used to the new house. Everything seemed a bit blurry these days. I didn't know that I was going blind. Mandy started noticing that I was bumping into things so she took me to the vet to check it out. The vet told Mandy that I was blind. Now I'm used to being blind it's not that bad, I know my way around the house. I have some little accidents sometimes. Like one day I got myself locked up in the toilet. And I'm a bit ashamed of this but I fell into the toilet and was soaking wet.
Well this was my story, I've got a good life and Mandy loves me and I love her ! That's the most important thing in my world.
