This was one of the highlights of my musical carrier. Polly and myself had just 6 weeks to write and arrange the score before
recording the backing tracks used in the live show.
We played live and toured with the dance company for the 3 x's 6 week season Cafe enjoyed.
This video was produced by the ABC and gives a good impression of the production, great choreography and eclectic musical score.
 

 

Just a short taste of the first room in the Sydney Dance Company production of Some Rooms...
Michelle Mahrer and Brett Cabot created all the visual film and 35mm slide FX in this fantastic production.
The clip shows the live stage along with anamorphic projection (super 16mm) creating an immersive final visual...
We made use of a 35mm 2 over 3 rear projection slide rig and super 16mm front projection over a proscenium gauze...
The end result was fantastic and complemented and indeed was intrinsic to the success of this modern dance piece created in 1983 by the SDC...
Some Rooms was probably the SDC's most popular production of all time and aside from several Australian seasons at the Opera House in Sydney, also toured extensively around the world.... I was very proud to be involved with this production....
