![]() Personal info Name: Koen van Trojen Date of birth: 17-05-1972 Occupation: Business owner Sports When I was young I used to play field hockey at SCHC in Bilthoven and I practiced martial arts like Jiu Jitsu. On January 1st 2003, I decided that I had to work out more, so I started swimming. From 500 meters in the beginning to 3 km later on. My friends Dirk-Jan Bakker and Patrick Maes, both serious marathon runners, took me jogging on April 24th, 2003. After 1 lap (about 3,5 km), I was exhausted and stopped. Went back on May 8th for 2 laps and felt good. On July 10th I did my first 3 laps and my ‘runners high’ was made. But it wasn’t until March this year that I decided to participate the New York Marathon on November 7, 2004, To run for more than 42 km. I still can not believe it. Work Together with my brother I own a scrap metal trading company; we trade scrap metal from basically all over the world. At Magtrade , I work closely together with my father and my brother Bart. We travel all over the world. Fun thing of travelling is that in (almost) every city there is a nice park to run. A great way to see and feel the city. Also, I have an event production company. At Braveheart we produce events from product launches to high class parties, as well as PR. Some of our projects: * The Quote Challenge, a supercar rally where we drive from party to party.
