The ING New York City Marathon is the story  of up to 35,000 athletes on a celebratory journey through the world's most vibrant city.  The premier event of New York Road Runners, the marathon is viewed by two million spectators lining the course  and supported by 12,000 volunteers,  dozens of loyal sponsors, and many city agencies.
