Notes:
Tom is back! After 25 odd years a new Tom Rapp album, and it is a masterpiece. This album is a remarkable
return of Tom Rapp in music, with all his brilliance and perfection. I sincerely hope this album is getting
proper attention in the media.
The album starts with an a cappella version of Silver Apples a track dedicated to Simeon, the former
leader of the Silver Apples, a New York experimental band from the late sixties.
Blind and Hopelessly Romantic are new recorded versions of songs previously available on a
Terrascope compilation CD and the Pearls Before Swine tribute album.
Space is also an old Pearls Before Swine song finally released by Tom Rapp himself.
The Shoebox Symphony is based on an old Pearls Before Swine tape found by Tom in a shoebox marked
"1968". In the skillful hands of Nick Saloman these old tracks are re-shaped in stunning songs as if
recorded many years ago. Nick Saloman is a real master in recapturing the old spirit of the sixties.
On the final track Tom tells some stories from the sixties, recorded at the Tin Angel in Philadelphia,
July 2, 1998.
No point in listing favorites here. I'm still heavily impressed by all songs which are all pure
gems. This album is a must for all Dylan fans too. Yes, Bob Dylan beware, Tom is back!!!
