DJ AmazingAmazone

The AmazingAmazone learned DJ-ing for an audience at Seymour Likely (Two, not the lounge) by invitation of the Back2back Soundsystem every Thursday. Unfortunately there was no more room for me at the moment I wanted to cash my skills so I focused on Radio Static.

What started as a radio show on the local station Salto in Amsterdam, was developed into a whole new local music radio station. DJ AmazingAmazone hosted a three-hour playlistshow again every Thursday night.
Through the network of Radio Static several activities developed like the Freeze Flight Festival, the JungleTribe, a regular night at  jungle café Lux, writing for internetmag 1000%Max and even an internship at a film production company.

Due to personal circumstances I had to quit most DJ-activities in September 1996, but I never quit my wheels of steel at home.
In the mean time I got my drivers' license, learned to ride Icelandic horses, snowboarding, surfing and diving, so in that sense I fulfilled my name: I've become a versatile amazone.

In 2001 it was time for DJ AmazingAmazone to appear in public again and ever since I please different audiences with my favourite passion: evoking emotion by diverse sets ranging from hip hop and jungle to latin and punk.

DJ AmazingAmazone is not fond of requests; the style is adapted to the kind of party and the vibe of the moment.
DJ AmazingAmazone also works back2back with DJ Sunshine/Hori-John.

Cooperating in setting up and running of local radio station Radio Static in Amsterdam, 105.9 FM on the cable (now 88.1FM), next to hosting my own (playlist) show: three hours every Thursday night: (presentation, production, technique and editing)

Sept. - dec. 1995:
Co-operator of the JungleTribe, hosting jungle parties at amongst others the Melkweg Amsterdam and  TU Delft (decor, flyer design and distribution)

Aug. - sept. 1995:
Co-hosting radio show Static (2 hours a week) at local station AFM Amsterdam

June - aug. 1995: Co-operator  of hip hop agency   Krazy Phat Unit, Amsterdam Zuidoost.
