Method
|
My methods are straight forward and much in line with
the methods used by all the succesfull pigeonracers.
I race the traditional widowhood and I wil try it sometimes
on the nest.
In the widowhood section, I normaly clean it every week.
But at the youngbird section I use the "Dry" method.
And at the end of the season wil then this loft been cleaned out.
A darkningmethod I don't use.

Medication
|
During the winter I give them medicine for Paratyphus, Cocci and Tricho (yellow canker)
During the season I give preventative medicine for canker every six to eight weeks.
I also must vaccinate them every year against the Paramyxovirus. This happens by the famous pigeonvet Rob Hoekstra.
Al of this is by government order.

Nature
|
I wil try to use as much a possible "Naturally"medicine.
I use much of garlic oil/ or Hemp-oil and brewers yeast over the grains.
When you use this on a regular base, you can see that your pigeons are going to "shine"
Sometimes I also make fresh Garlic. I use then a juicemachine, but only for the garlic.
What is best for your pigeons, you have to find out by yourself.
Try as many things if you can.
But be carefull with medicine !!!!!!!

Grains
|
The grains that I feed my pigeons are from the famous foodsuppliers HOBBYSHOP van TILBURG in Zondereigen-Belgium:
Here I use the youngbirdmix with small corn 25 kilo ( VTB 14 ) and Energymix 20 kilo ( VTB 26)
Those 2 bags I mix together to one.

Together with Brewersyeast or wead and algae is it a perfect combination to a perfect health.
