My station is build around the Kenwood TS-850sat and the Kenwood TS-790E. For 2mtr I use a transverter from Kuhne type TR-144H. This is a high performance transverter with separate TR and RX in- and output.
On this way I am able to use two type's of coax cable for  the feed lines.
For the RX I use a 1/2" feeder and for TX a 7/8". In top of the tower I have a SP-2000 preamplifier from SSB electronics who gave me a 18dB extra RX gain if I need this. The two antennas in top for 2mtr deliver together over 15dB so in most of the cases I do not need the preamp for RX. It will only give extra noise and no extra signal to my transverter.

For 70cm I have the Kenwood TS-790E, also I nice working tranceiver. This one I use also for satellite communication via AO-7 and FO-29. In those cases also for up- and downlink. In the tower again a SSB electronics SP-7000 preamplifier for extra RX gain. The coax cable is a 7/8" type feeder. for more details see the pictures below.
