BACKGROUND
I arrived at Planet Earth on August 18, in the year of 1947, in a city called Jogjakarta in Indonesia.
After finishing the local highschool I took the long journey to Holland and continued my education at the HTS Breda, qualifying me as an Electrical Engineer in 1972 (BSc). The Electrical Engineering faculty of the Technical University in Eindhoven witnesses my study efforts during a two year period.
In 1974 I started my Philips career in Eindhoven at the Philips Data Systems group, specifically in the Office Computers department. This lasted for two years. In 1976 I joined the Medical Systems department in Best, employed as a Digital Hardware engineer in the X-Ray Development group.
The work involves the design and manufacturing of electronic circuitry on printed circuit boards (: CPU, I/O, MovementControl, Networking etc.) meant to control the Medical Stand.
In this capacity I have been busy in the Product Development during the years 1977-1985 and 1989-1998; in-between, the years of 1985-1989, I spent with the PreDevelopment group.
Dispersed over all those 'Hardware'-years, I am also involved in Software tasks, mainly focused on PC applications (Data Acquisition): design, building, problem solving, maintenance.
CURRENT WORK
Per August 1-1998, I have left the Product Development scene and rejoined the PreDevelopment group again. Currently the assigned work comprises of the Dynamic Beam Attenuation (DBA) and Beam Image Control (BIC) projects.
Also, a major work accent shift from Hardware towards Software development has taken place.
FAMILY LIFE
In the year 1975 I met a one-of-a-kind woman (Gerda), I married her; our daughter (Joyce) joined us in 1977.
