fINALLY IT IS IN... THE GLASS OF THE MAIN FEEDING TANK 01.  look below for the first pic-s on the glass delivery day :P Below are the 2 main slates... the biggest ( bottom ) slate is 240 x 120 cm..

The top slate will hold a set of strengthening gurthers, spanning the intire 240 cm, on top of the tank. This will help to support the roof of the enclosure and spreads the load of the roof over the 2 side slates evenly. These are the slates.. 3 small slates, 1 frontslate ( bigger) and the 2 seperated roof slates ( biggest 2 )

Pic below shows a broom in front of the main bottom slate, and the back slate of the enclosure... to get an idea of the size of the thing !! Turn it sideways, and I can easely stand up and clap above my head...

THE START .... 28-01-2004

This is the roof of the enclosure, upside down on the floor. In the middle there is an area witch will be covered with perforated slate, to have some circulation... here we are in the process of cleaning and measuring..

29-01-2004

Pics Below.. here are the gurthers glued into place... Since it has been glue'd, and so has to dry very good, it is allowed a full day, before we dare to touch it. Temp at 24 degrees, rel hum at 55 %.

The length still has me dazzled !! look at the 2 strips holding the gurthers.. They will be removed, but for now are invisible hands that hold the gurthers in place.. On the right pic Himotep insures us that he agrees on the 90 degree angle on the third gurther.. :P... :

And now it needs to dry... 24 hrs !!! When dry, it will have a second silicone finish, to ensure us all that it WILL hold..., but with this kinda  structures, the mere weight of the glass is almost suffciant to hold the thing.. estimates on the total full glass structure weight are around the 200 KG's...

30-01-2004 :

After letting these top slates set for over 24 hours, the sides of the enclosure arrived... 2 slates 120 x 100 cm... not the smallest :D
