STRANGULATION OF PREY :

FIRSTLY, I'D LIKE TO TAKE THE TIME TO ( SORRY GUYS ) ELIMINATE CERTAIN THINGS THAT MIGHT BE THOUGHT POSSIBLE WITH GIANT SNAKES LIKE THE BURMS WE HAVE.

1 ) A PYTHON ALWAYS " BREAKS ALL THE BONES" OF THE PREY....

FALSE !!! A PYTHON CAN BREAK BONES, BUT WILL SELDOM DO SO... PERHAPS IN AN EXTREME EFFORT TO PREVENT PREY INJURING HIMSELF...THE SNAKE WILL NORMALLY APPLY JUST ENOUGH PRESSURE TO PREVENT PREY FROM BREATHING. IN THIS PROCESS THE ADULT SNAKES ( > 6 YEARS OF AGE AND ABOVE OR SO ) HAVE MORE STRENGTH THAN YOU CAN IMAGINE, IT'S SAID THAT FOR EVERY METER OR 3 FOOT OF SNAKE, THERE ARE 1 1/3 ADULT MEN NEEDED TO RESTRAIN THE SNAKE ! FROM MY OWN EXPERIENCE I KNOW THAT THEY CAN BE A HUGE MUSCLE !!! BUT I SELDOM SEE THEM ACTUALLY BRAKE BONES..

2 ) THERE ARE BURMESE PYTHONS IN THE WILD OF MORE THEN 6 METERS OR 18 FOOT !!

FALSE !!! A BURMESE PYTHON, IN THIS CASE THE FEMALE MOLURUS BIVITTATUS BIVITTATUS, CAN MAKE A GOOD 6 METERS, WHEN WELL FED, AND LOOKED AFTER LIKE AN ANGEL :-) BUT AS FAR AS I KNOW ( SOURCE NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC ) THE BIGGEST BURMESE SEEN AND CAPTURED IN THE WILD, WAS A FEMALE OF JUST OVER 4 METERS OR 12 FOOT. SURE THEY CAN GET BIGGER, BUT THESE ARE RECORDED FACTS, NOT HOT OR WILD SPECULATION. IN A GOOD ZOO YOU WILL FIND BIGGER ONES SURE, BUT HEY, THAT'S NO JUNGLE !!! THE BIGGEST RECTIC PYTHON WAS 7.10 METERS ALSO SEEN AND CAPTURED IN THE WILD, AND EATEN BY A TRIBE !!!! HOW DIS&^%$*&^%$* ( SOURCE NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC )

3 ) BURMESE PYTHONS EAT ( ADULT ) HUMANS !!

WELL... A BURMESE HAS THE ABILITY TO EAT PREY ( THEORETICALLY ) THAT WILL " FEED" IT FOR SOME 400 DAYS !!! IN OTHER WORDS, WITH ONE MEAL IT CAN FORESEE ITSELF WITH A LOT OF RESERVES..., IF I LOOK AT MYSELF, WITH 2 LITERS OF MILK A DAY, TIMES 400 DAYS, THAT'S 800 LITERS ..... ( AND FOOD AND SO ON... ) ALL !! IN ONE GO !!!! GET THE PICTURE :-) THERE ARE ALSO A LOTTA PICTURES CIRCULATING AROUND THE WORLD, WITH HUGE SNAKES GUTTED OPEN, AND HUMAN REMAINS IN THEM... AN ANACONDA OF 10 METERS OR 30 FOOT CAN EASILY EAT US FOR BREAKFAST, AFTER THE HIBERNATION. BUT A BURMESE.... IT MIGHT YEAH... IF YOU ARE SMALL AND THE SNAKE IS VERY VERY BIG, AND ALSO VERY HUNGERY. NORMAL CAPTIVE BURMS ARE WELL FED SO...... BUT DO MIND THE BABY IF YOU LET YOUR 6 YEAR OLD BURMESE ROAM AROUND THE HOUSE ! BUT FOR THE REST.....

AS THE PYTHON COILS ONE OR MORE TIMES AROUND IT'S PREY, THE SNAKE WILL INCREASE THE AMOUNT OF FORCE, EVERY TIME THE PREY EXHALES. THAT WAY THE SNAKE WILL GET SO TIGHT AROUND IT, IT IS PREVENTING THE PREY FROM BREATHING. AS A RESULT THE PREY SUFFOCATES AND THEN DIES. WHEN THE HEART STOPS POUNDING, THE SNAKE STARTS TO UNWRAP, LOCATE THE HEAD END OF THE PREY AND START EATING..
