Reshaped the mouintingpads, which gives
an excellent fit to the KaDee's.
The Horn is now replaced by a CalScale190-420
and I've finished the second SP/SD70M with road# 9810. The DetailWest horn
235-186 would be a good choise too, but it's long bell is opposite to the
prototype horn.
I paint the detailparts with a brush and
I use European/English enamels. The plow e.g. is spraypainted with an automobile
primer then a layer of Humbrol 112 as a base coat for the real color Modelflex
'SP dark lark gray' (165-1640). I darkened the dark grey with a little
black to match the Athearn shade of gray. Before assembling the model I
airbrushed it with a satin varnish of the same trademark (Humbrol 135).
Fortunately I never had any problems with the acryl paints in conjunction
with the enamels.
