The participants in this 'collective manifestation of the Situationistisk Internationale' were Michèle Bernstein, Guy Debord, J.V.Martin and Jan Strijbosch. The title for the exhibition was drawn from a pamphlet by the English group 'Spies For Peace'. This pamphlet, also exhibited/distributed at Gallery Exi, draws attention to the existence of Regional Seats Of Government i.e. nuclear bunkers/survival shelters into which Government representatives would flee in the event of a nuclear war and, after the fallout, to reestablish rule. The 1977 edition is online available on the Guy Debord Archive 1931-1994, the 1983 edition on nothingness.org. Donald Nicholson-Smith translated the book for Zone Books, New York in 1995. The translation by Ken Knabb in 2002 is online available on Bureau of Public Secrets. The book edition of this translation has been published by Rebel Press (England) in 2005.
  • The first German translation was published as Die Gesellschaft des Spektakels (piratical edition) by Projektgruppe Gegengesellschaft, Düsseldorf 1971. A revised translation by Jean-Jacques Raspaud was officialy published in 1978 by Nautilus, Hamburg. This translation is also online available German translations of situationist texts. Reprinted in 1996 Die Gesellschaft des Spektakels. Mit Kommentaren zu "Die Gesellschaft des Spektakels" (Edition Tiamat : Berlin 1996).
  • Published in Dutch as De spektakelmaatschappij in 1976 by Het Wereldvenster, Baarn. In the same year another edition by De Kale Rok (piratical edition?). In 2001 a new edition was published by Dolle Hond, Amsterdam. Not online available.
  • La società dello spettacolo in 1968 was the first Italian translation, published by De Donato. A better edition was published in 1974 and in 1976 the 3rd ed. was published by Stampa Alternativa, Roma.
