Vintage angle of attack sensor. The angle of attack of the aircraft is obtained by measuring the wind flow angle using a vane that controls a potentiometer output through a gear train. Vintage throttle quadrant of a Navy carrier-based jet fighter operating in the 1950s. The throttle is complete and has a retractable "catapult hold" handle that avoids inadvertent backthrottling by the pilot as a result of the acceleration during catapulting. I was told that this was from a delta-wing Douglas F4D Skyray (later F-6) carrier-based fighter/interceptor that flew from 1957 onwards, but am not sure. The throttle was manufactured by Hansen-Lynn Co. in Burbank, California. It has buttons for operation of the speed brake, microphone and Throt. Rel. The handle moves smoothly and the electrical connector is present. This part can fairly easily be adapted for use as a throttle for a computer flight simulator. Sale price 136.50 euro + shipping. Contact me at maartenwaterloo@netscape.net for more details or larger images of this part. |
