Most of the addresses of schools/semi-educational organizations listed on this page are copied from the Association for Better Living and Education (ABLE) website at www.able.org. ABLE and its Applied Scholastics (www.appliedscholastics.org) subordinate organization are, according to the formerly secret closing agreement between the Church of Scientology and the American Internal Revenue Service (IRS), both "Scientology-related entities".
Scientology 'education' under a different name
While ABLE as an umbrella organization has a wider field to get the methods of the founder of Scientology, L. Ron Hubbard, known to a wide public, Applied Scholastics specifically exists to get Hubbard's deficient 'Study Technology' into use by as many people as possible. In doing so these organizations have decided that withholding the close Scientology link to the public is in Scientology's best interest. The IRS Guide to Scientology lists how much money some of these schools had to pay to Applied Scholastics

Keep in mind that ABLE is exclusively staffed by "Sea Org" Scientology members. That group of scientologists that has unlimited power within Scientology and they wear fake navy uniforms. These are people that have pledge themselves with a contract for one billion years to Scientology's cause.
Penny-a-word science fiction writer teaching your child?
Lafayette Ronald Hubbard felt the need to fabricate a study method, which the scientologists regard as a breakthrough in the educational field. Scientology therefore thinks that he should be praised as a world class educator. Which is strange considering he was no more than a mediocre student {actual scan) at best himself. "In fact, Hubbard failed to graduate. At the end of his first year he was put on probation for his poor academic performance, and at the end of the second asked to leave." -- Source: Chapter Two of A Piece of Blue Sky.
Another Scientology Literacy Scam
Another Scientology scam is the Hollywood Education and Literacy Project (HELP). Endorsed by Scientology celebrities like Kelly Preston, John Travolta and Tom Cruise. It says it got money from the city of Boston. Note also that the Delphi Academy, where donations are to be sent, is a Scientology run school.Scientology uses many different groups for its cause: Kids on Stage for a Better World, The Happiness Kids, HELP, Foundation for Advancements in Science and Education, Youth for Human Rights International and many others. Or it licenses it's 'methode' to a group like Communities Assisting Literacy and Learning (CALL) in Texas.
The site of HELP at www.helplearn.org takes every possible confussion away for the keen reader, they are Scientology all the way as they have this on every page: "The Hollywood Education and Literacy Project is licensed by Applied Scholastics International to use the Study Technology of L. Ron Hubbard. Applied Scholastics is a trademark and service mark owned by the Association of Better Living and Education International and is used with its permission."

Make no mistake, this 'Study Technology' by L. Ron Hubbard is 100% Scientology. On one of its websites is written: "The study technology is also used in all Scientology churches, missions and groups. Scientologists find it invaluable in aiding their spiritual progress as it gives them educational skills which enable them to fully understand the Scientology Scriptures they study." -- source www.essentialtraining.orgAnother Scientology site frankly states: "The Scientology religion is based exclusively upon L. How much Scientology could they put into it anyway?
Scientology considers psychiatry as its worst enemy. L. Ron Hubbard in a 29 July 1980 Scientology bulletin accused psychiatrists of being the cause for a general increase of criminality in society and that the "instigators, patrons and supporters of psychiatry and psychology classify fully and demonstrably as criminals." On May 6th, 1982, Hubbard wrote in an another bulletin the following words of wisdom: "There is only one remedy for crime – get rid of the psychs! They are causing it."
This intense ideological fueled and irrational hatred towards the 'psychs' is evident too in the Basic Study Manual, one of the 'study tech' books . The following is from pages 79-80:
So there you have it, under the guise of teaching the Scientology principle of 'misunderstood' words (psychology) the BSM manages to put into your child's mind the equation that psychology and its beliefs equals man having no soul, man is only an animal, war-mongering, fascism, being under dictator's rule, etc.The subject of psychology began its texts by saying they did not know what the word means. So the subject itself never arrived. Professor Wundt of Leipzig University in 1879 perverted the term. It really means just a study (ology) of the soul (psyche). But Wundt, working under the eye of Bismark the greatest of military fascists at the height of German war ambitions, had to deny man had a soul. So there went the whole subject! Men were thereafter animals (it is all right to kill animals) and man had no soul, so the word psychology could no longer be defined.
Heron Basics
Just recently I have noticed that Scientology linked schools tout the Heron Basics Program by Heron Books. A trademark owned by Northwest Research, Inc. A quick look on their book list show that they are mixing Hubbard with other authors. One thing you definitely don't want to teach impressible children is Hubbard's ethics, if just for the reason that Hubbard was labeled an "Unindicted Co-Conspirator" by the FBI and his own wife went to jail in what was called the largest domistic spy-network in the USA. Not surprisingly Heron Books features on a World Institute of Scientology Enterprises list.

L. Ron Hubbard declared in a Scientology document, Professional Auditors Bulletin No. 119, 1 September 1957, that "the South African native is probably the one impossible person to train in the entire world - he is probably impossible by any human standard."Within the last few years, and despite Hubbard's racist views, Scientology has started targeted programs to recruit black familes with a learn-to-read program. Of course, here again they deny the Scientology link.
Why Scientology wants its hands on your kid?
The following was printed in a Scientology magazine and should be enlightening for any parent:Why is education so important? The Jesuits (an order within the Roman Catholic Church well known for their activism) exported the policy of starting Church schools in areas where they wished to introduce their religion. The reasons are obvious. By educating a child into one's own beliefs, one gradually takes over a whole new generation of a country and can thus influence, in the long term, the development and growth of that country. The Jesuits were very successful at this strategy.
