 It's occasionally been claimed that Scientologists were forbidden to watch
"2001 - A Space Odyssey" because it was really a Marcab implant, or some such.
I must admit I didn't believe it because I thought, well, it was just *too*
silly.

 Oops. There *is* no "too silly" in Scientology...

 Here is the actual text of the Ethics Order proscribing "2001":

   To: All Staff                                                   24/6/68
   From: HCO Area Director                                       No: 691 L
   Subject: Ethics Protection.

   No staff or current students are to see the film "2001 - A Space Odyssey."
   The film produces heavy and unneccessary restimulation.

 In another Ethics Order, subject: B.O., Mr. Hopkins issues the terse 
instruction:

                    All staff are to wear a deodorant.

 That's assuming they had enough money left to buy any deodorant!
