	were discussing some OT stories we had heard about controlling
	time, and odd things that had happened.  We thought it would be
	fun to do, but didn't really think something like that would
	happen to either one of us.
		"But I said, 'Let's just decide that it /could/ be that
	way.'  Since we were keeping track of the milage and time anyway,
	and as we had started a bit late and had hit some traffic, it was
	simple to do.
		"Before long, I found that we were making time in a way
	that would have been impossible in the physical universe.  We
	weren't moving faster than the other traffic, but we were gaining
	time.  My friend checked the math on our milage and told me that
	at the present rate, we were going to be at our destination about
	an hour early.
		"This was shocking to both of us and we both laughed, then
	became silent with our own thoughts.  We both decided it would
	'ruin the game' if we showed up an hour early -- plus it would be
	tough to explain how it happened!
		"So we decided to get back on schedule, and sure enough, 
	the next road sign showed us being just slightly ahead of when we 
	expected to be there.
		"We ended up arriving about five minutes early, having left 
	about twenty minutes late and keeping around the speed limit the 
	whole time.  So we did what should have been a two-hour drive in 
	about one and a half hours, and had time to find the location and 
	still show up 'fashionably' early."   --   R. W.


I leave it to a.r.s. readers to spot the several logical contradictions 
aside from the admitted physical impossibility.
