This is the site of the Blue Texel sheep flock of the family Groot Nibbelink . On this site you´ll find a good impression of our Blue Texel herdbook sheep breeding. Our herd is called “Brabants Blue”, which refers to our hobby breeding Blue Texel sheep and Belgian Blue cattle in the province Brabant in Southern part of the Netherlands. More information about our Blue Texel sheep, look on this link. Our sheep are certified free of Visna Meadi-virus and Brucella ovis. We are very keen on preventing malignant foot rot. Since 2008 our herd is also certified free of scrapie (all sheep are genotype ARR/ARR). In 2010 all of the sheep and rams used are genetically tested on hereditary microphtalmia. All sheep and rams are certified free ! On this page you’ll find some pictures of our sheep. Since a few years we visit the local sheep shows. Ram 55538 champion ram on three shows now! |
|
After ram 55538 was succesfull on the sheep show in Apeldoorn last summer, he recently became champion ram in two shows! In Apeldoorn (January 5th) and as well in St Oedenrode (January 26th), our home bred ram 55538 was chosen as the best ram of all rams born in 2011. This year this ram has bred with 9 ewes of Peter van den Eijnden. After seeing the offspring of this ram, another BT breeder baught this ram in June 2013. |
