This tool can be used to index off-line media like CDs and DVDs, and search the database. It is the successor to PDC 3.0.

Note that I've now finally released version 1.0, although there may be a couple of bugs there... If you spot them, please tell me :-)
Anyway, I think it's now stable and mature enough, because I've been using it for some time now.

Features

PDC.Net has the following features:

• Data provider included for SQL Server / MSDE database
• Even more powerful search possibilities than PDC 3.0 (distinct values, top x records, query all tables, and so on)
• Even more powerful view possibilities than PDC 3.0 (flexible grouping, sorting, filtering and paging)
• Easier extension configuration than PDC 3.0
• Extensible through extensions (.NET assemblies, or .cs files)
• Allows adding extra fields to files and catalogs
• Concurrency checks for updates (support for multi-user editing)

More information

The program is still under construction. With the technical documentation file below, you can get an idea of the possibilities, and the improvements since PDC 3.0. When the final version is ready (at the end of the year 2006), it will be available on this page.

For now, you can play around with the beta version, available below. The functionality is almost ready, and the user documentation is completely ready. So have fun with it! ;-)
