A Role Playing Game can be played in many different ways. That's why this walkthrough will only cover one way of playing the game. Most of the areas can be explored in an other order too. To get the most fun out of the game, we only provide the most important information which can be used as a guideline to play this game. Try out other solutions as well and explore the entire environments to discover the features of the game. Needless to say that all hostile creatures must be killed and that everything must be searched for items, spells and gold. Note that this walkthrough describes Baldur's Gate without the add on disk. You must also be aware of the fact that you have to run the patch in order to find all the hidden treasures. The location of the items will be indicated by giving their coordinates (x- and y coordinates). You can obtain coordinates by pressing the "X" -key on your keyboard. You will get the area code and the coordinates of the position of the cursor. In this walkthrough, the coordinates will be displayed as a combination of two values (eg 1028-390), representing the X- and the Y value. Sometimes the content of certain containers can differ from the given information below. This is because some items are generated random. Note that the quests you will get, depends on the characters in your party and on the class of your character.

IRENICUS' PRISON
(AR0601, AR0602 and AR0603)

The story:
This is the area where you start the game. Imoen will set you free and join your party automatically. The first objective in this part of the game is to free your friends Jaheira and Minsc and to get a way out of this building. Finding your way through this building, you will encounter Aatagah (1765-2603). He will ask you a question about loyalty. Answer him that you would press the button and he will summon two foes. Defeat them and Aatagah will give you a lead. Further on you will encounter Cambion (2599-1033) surrounded with a magical shield. Turn the device in the middle of this room and the shield will vanish. Now you can attack him and defeat him. The Sewage Golem (1066-2045) can be found in his circular room. He is blind and he will believe that you are his master when you have the Activation Stone on you. Once you have that stone, you can order him to go open the doors. In the circular center room, you will find Otyugh (2377-1820). Kill him (650 exp) and you will find a Wand of Frost on his remains. Clear the entire area and use the teleporters to get to the two other areas. You will need the Air Elemental Statue to be able to use the locked portal in the north and you will need the Portal Key to be able to use the portals in the north-east and the south-east. In area AR0601, you will find a genie. He will ask you to find him a flask. In area AR0603, you will meet Yoshimo, who offers to join your party. In the next room you will be attacked by Mephits. Get rid of them by destroying their four portals (5000 exp for each portal). In this area you will also find Frennedan, who seems to be friendly but appears to be hostile after all. There's a room with several tubes. A clone has broken out and attacks you. Kill it and search it's remains for the Wand of Missiles Key. There's also a large room which is trapped. There are six pedestals alongside the wall. You need a key for every single pedestal to get the wands removed from them. Once you removed a wand from a pedestal, the trap in front of that pedestal will disappear and you can go to the next pedestal. The correct keys for the pedestals are:

  1. 958-874 needs the Wand of Missiles Key (red)

  2. 1187-717 needs the Wand of Frost Key (blue)

  3. 1291-641 needs the Wand of Fire Key (green)

  4. 1413-558 needs the Wand of Summoning Key (green)

  5. 1521-480 needs the Wand of Lightning Key (blue)

  6. 1635-399 needs the Wand of Cloudkill Key (red)

The exit is to the east at location 3433-1405 in area AR0603

The companions:

The quests:

  1. Release Jaheira.
    Get the cell key at location AR0602 3049-2815 and open Jaheira's cage (3000 exp).

  2. Release Minsc.
    Talk to Minsc (AR0602; 3984-2736) until he gets angry. He will get upset and he will free himself (3000 exp).

  3. Retrieve the Activation Stone.
    Go to Rielev's chamber and get the Activation Stone (AR0602; 1259-1586) from the table. You will need it to have the Sewage Golem open the doors.

  4. Release Rielev.
    Go to Rielev's chamber and talk to him. He will give you the Energy Cells which will release him from his half-dead state. He will ask you to release the other captured people too. You can find them in the room with the tubes.

  5. Take the acorns to the Queen.
    In the garden section of this area (AR0602), you will find three Dryads; Ulene, Elyme and Cania. They will ask you to take their acorns to the Queen who lives in the south-end of Windspear Hills. You can find the acorns on one of the Duergar in the smithy area (9500 exp for finding the acorns and accepting the quest). Go to the Windspear Hills and find Queen Vaelasa (AR1200; 4043-3055). Talk to her about the acorns (32500 exp) and give the acorns to her (9750 exp) to complete this quest.

  6. Set the djinni free.
    When you use the magic lamp (AR0601; 312-556) the genie will appear. He will ask you to find him a flask, which will set him free. Go back to area AR0602 and talk to Ulene, the dryad. Ask her about the flask and she will give it to you. Go back to the genie and give him the flask (15000 exp). He will give you the Sword of Chaos+2.

  7. Rescue Frennedan.
    Frennedan (AR0603; 2613-1539) will ask you to find the key to open his room. Search the storage room and find that key in a chest (AR0603; 2235-1342). Open Frennedan's room and he will thank you and follow you out. However, at a certain moment, he will start attacking your party. Kill him (3000 exp) now.

WAUKEEN'S PROMENADE
(AR0700)

The story:
After breaking out of prison, you will be witnessing a fight between wizards in this area. After the fight, Imoen will be taken away from your party. There are several areas to explore here, as there are: Adventurer's Mart (AR0702), Temple of Ilmater (AR0703), Mithrest Inn (AR0704), Armorer/Fletcher (AR0706), Enge's Shop (AR0707), Cernd's former house (AR0708), Den of the Seven Vales (AR0709), Fennecia's Home (AR0710) and Weaponsmith (AR0713). The main thing to do in this area is to solve the mystery of the circus. Talk to the people in this area to learn about the sorcerers and the circus. The circus has several areas too, being: The bridge to the circus (AR0600), The entrance (AR0604), The Foyer (AR0605), The piste (AR0606) and the restored piste (AR0607). When you try to cross the bridge, you will meet a genie. He gives you a riddle, which you have to answer right before you may cross the bridge. The answer to the first riddle is: "The prince is 30 years old and the princess is 40 years old" (19500 exp). If you answered the first riddle wrong, you will get a second riddle. The answer to that riddle is "nothing" (14500 exp). In the entrance of the circus, you will meet Aerie in an other form (AR0604; 810-661). She will ask you to set her free. Kill the werewolves in the foyer and enter the piste. Only concentrate on killing Kalah (AR0606; 475-401). Once he is dead, his friends are dead also. Once Kalah is dead (2000 exp), the piste will be restored to it's original shape. Most circus workers are being transformed into their true shapes as well. Talk to Hannah (AR0607; 96-301) and leave the circus. On the second floor of the Den of the Seven Vales, you will find Smaeluv Orcslicer (4000 exp), Mencar Pebblecrusher (10000 exp), Sorcerous Amon (6000 exp), Pooky (4000 exp) and Brennan Risling. They tell you to go but you can kill them for the experience points. Brennan Risling ran away before he was killed though.

The quests:

  1. Find Giran's mother.
    Talk to Giran, near the circus tent, and he will tell you about his mother, who is still inside the tent. Enter the circus and kill Kalah. Talk to Hannah (500 exp) and she will leave to go back to her son. Leave the circus and talk to Giran (2500 exp) to complete the quest.

  2. Free Aerie.
    Talk to Aerie, at the entrance of the circus and she tells you to find the sword, which is the key to her chains. In the north of this area, you will find two peasants. Kill them (974 exp. each) and get the Ogre's Sword. Give the sword to Aerie and she will transform back into her true shape (18500 exp). She will join your party if you wish.

THE SLUMS
(AR0400)

The story:
From Waukeen's Promenade, you will get to the Slums area where you will encounter Gaelan Bayle. He tells you that he knows people who can help you rescue Imoen. Follow him to his house and he will tell you that you will have to raise 20000 gold before they will help you. Inside the Copper Coronet, you will find some people who will have jobs for you so you can earn some money. On the second floor of Gaelan's home, you will meet Arledrian, a merchant. The locations to visit here are: Gaelan's home (AR0311), Jansen's home basement (AR0401), Jansen's home (AR0402), Jansen's home 2nd floor (AR0403), The Sewers (AR0404), Slaver Stockade (AR0405), The Copper Coronet (AR0406), Temple of Ilmater (AR0408), The Sphere (AR0411), Derelict home (AR0409) and Borinall's house (AR4017). There is a guy inside the Copper Coronet who will challenge you for a fight. If you kill Amalas (AR0406; 1092-1873) you will gain 1800 + 9500 exp. You can also find Lord Jierdan Firkraag (AR0406; 723-1396) who will give you a quest. You can also get a quest from Nalia (AR0406; 1003-1331). Lehtinan (AR0406; 413-1217) tells you about special entertainment when you tell him that you want to spend some coin. Eventually, he will tell you to go to the back (through the door in the north-east wall). In the back of the Copper Coronet, you will encounter Frankie (AR0406; 1808-1565) who will tell you about the 'gladiators' and their fights. In the cell area, you will hear a cry for help from Hendak. He will ask you to free him and the slaves. In the sewers you will encounter Quallo (AR0404; 2241-2759). He will ask you to solve the riddle of the sewers. Outside the Inn, you will encounter Cohrvale (AR0400; 3000-2179) and Bregg (AR0400; 3049-2226). Kill them both and you will get 6000 exp for Cohrvale and 4000 exp for Bregg. When you leave the Copper Coronet, after you did your business there, you will encounter a messenger who will tell Aerie that Quayle asked for her to come to him. When you go visit Quayle, he will ask you to go and see an old friend of him. SO, if you're ever in the Bridge District, talk to Raelis Shai in the playhouse beneath the Five Flagons Inn and see how you can help. Entering the Copper Coronet and leave again, makes Terl appear. He will tell that Anomen's sister has been killed and that Anomen's father has asked for Anomen to come see him. Inside the Slaver Stockade, you will find Captain Haegan (AR0405; 2072-1303). You will get 580 exp. when you kill him.

The quests:

  1. Collect 20000 gold.
    Gaelan Bayle will tell you to get 20000 gold to have some people help you to rescue Imoen. He tells you that you can find jobs at the Copper Coronet. Start solving the several quests you will get and collect some gold that way. When you have enough gold, return to Gaelan Bayle and he will tell you to just pay 15000 gold. Give him 15000 gold and he will tell you to go to the Docks District to see Aran Linvail, the Shadowmaster. He also gives you the Shadow Thief Cellar Key.

  2. Help Nalia to save de' Arnise Hold. (Fighter quest)
    Nalia will tell you about the invasion of de' Arnise Hold. She will ask you to help her save the Hold. You can let her join your party or you can agree to meet her south of the Hold. Go to the de'Arnise Hold area (AR1300) and find Nalia in the fort to the south (AR1300; 748-3228). She will tell you that you can enter the Hold via a secret entrance to the north (AR1300; 1294-2751). Talk to Captain Arat (AR1300; 675-3321) and he will ask you to destroy TorGal. Talk to him again and he will give you 20x Arrow of Fire. Enter the Hold via the secret door. Find Daleson (AR1302; 535-1070) and talk to him. He will tell you about the Lord Arnise and the Trolls. Further on you will find a forge. You have to find the three Heads of the Flail and bring them to this forge. You can find the Flail Head (Cold) in a lion statue (AR1302; 965-173), the Flail Head (Fire) in a statue (AR1303; 359-513) and the Flail Head (Acid) on the body of Glaicas (AR1303; 1194-1021), who has to be killed first (9500 exp). When you bring the three items back to the forge, you will get a Flail of Ages+3. You will also meet Lady Delcia Caan (AR1303; 621-1058), who will tell you that Lord Arnise is in the basement. If you choose to get some experience points before finishing this quest, kill the Flesh Golem (AR1303; 1080-667) for 2000 exp, the Stone Golem (AR1303; 992-619) for 8000 exp, the Iron Golem (AR1303; 877-603) for 13000 exp, the Stone Golem (AR1303; 788-547) for 8000 exp, the Clay Golem (AR1303; 701-489) for 8000 exp and the Flesh Golem (AR1303; 634-429) for 2000 exp. Find your way to the roof and turn the gate lever (AR1300; 2836-1848) to open the gate (29750 exp). Now, go find TorGal to finish the quest. TorGal can be found down in the basement (AR1301; 2489-437) and has two 'friends' with him. Lure him away from his friends by hiding in the shadows and kill him (15000 exp). Loot his body for a Protection from Undead-scroll and 5x Bolt+1. Leave the Hold and return to Nalia. She will offer to join your party and she will give you 650 Gold.

  3. Help Lord Jierdan Fikraag to save Windspear Hills. (Paladin quest)
    Lord Jierdan Firkraag asks you to clear Windspear Hills form monsters and he offers 10000 gold for it. Go to Windspear Hills (AR1200) and you will be attacked by Ogres. Kill them all and Garren Windspear appears. He tells you that the Ogres were actually Paladins and that you can find shelter in his cabin. Accept the offer and you will end up at his cabin. Talk to Garren Windspear again and he will tell you about Lord Jierdan Fikraag and the Order of the Radiant Heart. He will go and try to clear your name. After he's gone, his daughter, Iltha, will speak to you. After the conversation, Plath Rededge (AR1204; 560-240) will appear with some friends. They take Iltha away by using magic. Kill Plath Rededge (3500 exp) and the other foes. After the battle, Garren Windspear comes back and tells you that your name has been cleared. Offer him to rescue his daughter. The Orcs are probably to the north-east. Go to the north-east and enter the dungeon (AR1201). Kill the friends of Chieftain DigDag and go through the door to the north. In the next area (AR1202) you will be surrounded by eight archers. Kill them all and go through the door to the north. You will encounter Derg the Orc (AR1202; 1723-1531) and Flaylan the Orc (AR1202; 1648-1661) on your journey. Talk to Flaylan and he will tell you about Lord Firkraag. The Troll Cook (AR1202; 2885-2293) can best be killed immediately (1400 exp) before he calls his friends. In a circular room you will find Otyugh (AR1202; 2183-2713). Kill him on sight (5000 exp). More to the north, you will encounter Samia. She asks you to retrieve the texts form the tomb and when you agree, she will give you Samia's Key. Now, find Tazok (AR1202; 2239-815) and kill him (6000 exp). Loot his body and find a Flamedance Ring, a Full Plate Mail+1, a Potion of Extra Healing, a Sewer Key and a Two Handed Sword+2. Also kill Chieftain DigDag (2000 exp). Go to the west and take the stairs to Firkraag's Lair (AR1203). Talk to Firkraag (AR1203; 1525-1561) and he will tell you that he won't kill you and that you can go and rescue Garren Windspear's daughter. Don't kill Firkraag yet. Go back up and you will encounter Conster. Kill him (6000 exp) and loot his body for Firkraag's Prison Key. Open Iltha's cell and she will tell you to meet her at Windspear Cabin (23750 exp). Go to Winspear Cabin and talk to Garren Windspear. You will gain special abilities (Detect Evil and Protection from Evil). Garren Windspear will tell you to go to the Noble Order of the Radiant Heart and talk to the Prelate. The prelate will offer you to join the order if you like. 

  4. Free Hendak and the other slaves.
    You will hear the cry for help from Hendak (AR0406; 2695-517) in the cell area. This area is in the back of the Copper Coronet. He will tell you to find the beastmaster and kill him so you will get his key. Go through the door (AR0406; 2724-867), cross the arena and leave the arena to the south-east. You will encounter the beastmaster (AR0406; 3558-2012) at the end of the corridor. Attack him and he will set his 'friends' free. Kill them all and loot the beastmaster's remains to find the beastmaster's key. Go back to the cell area and open Hendak's cell (7500 exp). He will thank you and tell you that he will go kill Lehtinan. Follow him and help him kill Lehtinan (420 exp). Hendak will thank you (48750 exp) and he will ask you to free the children slaves as well. Go free the other slaves (if you haven't done that already) and return to talk to Hendak again. He will thank you again (1 reputation point) and he will give you a Bastard Sword+1, +3 vs. Shapeshifters, 3900 Gold and a Plate Mail Armor.

  5. Solve the riddle of the sewers.
    Down, in the sewers, you will find Quallo. He will tell you about a blade and about clues to get to the blade. After talking to him, go find a door (AR0404; 2674-1895) a little to the north-east. Go through that door and you will see the Glowing Pool. A voice gives you the following rhyme:
    Four locks are cast and made.
    Four wards will hold the blade.
    In what order shall thou place the keys?
    Four deaths await thee.
    Now, click on each of the pipes to get more specific clues. So obviously you will have to find four items. A little back to the north-west, you will come to the stream. Follow the stream to the north-east and you will encounter a group of Kobolds. Kill them and loot the remains of the Shaman. You will find Shaman's Staff. In a circular room to the north-west, you will find a grate (AR0404; 518-951). Open the grate and you will find a Hand. A little to the south-east you will find two corpses against the wall (AR0404; 1639-853). Take the Lover's Ring from the corpses. Next to Quallo there is a Carrion Crawler (AR0404; 2331-2727). Kill it and loot it's remains for the Blood of Quallo's Friend. Now you have the required four items. Talk to Quallo about the order of the items and he will give you some cryptic hints. Now, go to the Glowing Pool again and click the pipes in the following order: 3 - 1 - 2 - 4     (numbering the pipes from the left to the right). Each of your party members will receive 18000 exp. and you will get Lilarcor (a two handed sword).

BRIDGE DISTRICT
(AR0500)

The story:
When you enter the Bridge District, you will be addressed by Lieutenant Aegisfield (AR0500; 4264-386), who tells you about the murders in this district. He will ask you to help him solve this matter. The locations to visit in the Bridge District are: Tanner shop (AR0501 + AR0502 + AR0503), Balthis Estate (AR0506), House (AR0527 + AR0528), Barn (AR0530), House (AR0531), Five Flagons Inn (AR0509 + AR0510 + AR0511), Temple of Helm (AR0512), Derelict House (AR0529). Inside Balthis Estate, you will be attacked by some guards if you don't leave the house at once. Acton Balthis (AR0506; 265-507) will not talk to you. Outside, you will encounter Bertrand the 'Companion' (AR0500; 4281-1304). When you talk to him, you will be attacked by some muggers. When you go to the basement of the Five Flagons Inn, you will witness a poor play on stage. After the play Raelis Shai will ask the audience to send her help. Go backstage and talk to Raelis Shai (AR0510; 1321-247). When you leave the Five Flagon Inn, a young girl, Delon (AR0500; 3215-2004), will talk to you and ask you to help her people out. Inside the barn you will encounter Valeria (AR0530; 297-411), Falahar (AR0530; 401-532), Pitre (AR0530; 519-528) and Dracandros (AR0530; 666-567). They are hostile and they will attack you. Kill Valeria (12000 exp), Falahar (12000 exp), Pitre (6000 exp) and Dracandros (8000 exp). A creature will be summoned (Nabassu) and has to be killed too (10000 exp). On your way to the south, you will be attacked by Del and two vampires.

The quests:

  1. Solve the 'skinner' murders.
    Lieutenant Aegisfield asks you to help him solve the murders in the Bridge District. Find Rampah (AR0500; 2633-1188) and talk to him about the murders. He will offer you an Exotic Hide, which you can buy for 40 Gold eventually. Now, find Rose Bouquet (AR0500; 2342-2036), pay her 20 Gold and talk to her about the murders. She will tell you that she smelled Guril Berries and she will tell you to talk to Bel Dalemark (AR0500; 2648-2060) to get some items so she might recognize the smell. Bel Dalemark will give you Guril Berries, Solik Berries and Oak Bark. He tells you to go see Rejiek, the tanner, if you want to know more about it. Go back to Rose Bouquet and let her smell the items. She will recognize the Oak Bark. Enter the Tanner Shop and talk to Rejiek Hidesman (AR0501; 275-273) about the murders. If he doesn't confess, hit him once and he will flee to his basement (23250 exp). Follow him and explore the basement thoroughly. Under one of the beds you will find the proof you need; a tunic made of human flesh! Go down to the cellar and you will encounter Vellin Dahn (AR0503; 554-495). He will vanish while you are fighting his assassins. Go back to Lieutenant Aegisfield and tell him that you exposed the murderer. You will get 500 Gold, 45000 exp and 1 reputation point.
  2. Free Haer'Dalis from imprisonment by Mekrath.
    Raelis Shai will ask you to help her find Haer'Dalis and his Gem. Make sure you finished the Windspear Hills-quest first because you will find a key which you will need here. Go to the Temple District and enter the sewers (AR0701). To the north, there are two secret doors. Go through the north-west one. Explore the several chambers and you will find Mekrath (AR0705; 190-347). Kill him (14000 exp) and you will find Haer'Dalis in the center room (AR0705; 854-673). He will go home and tells you to explore the other rooms in order to find his gem. Find the altar (AR0705; 1362-127) and there you will find the Portal Gem. Go to the Bridge District and enter the Five Flagons Inn. Talk to Raelis Shai (21250 exp) and she will give you 1000 gold.
  3. Investigate the deaths in the Umar Hills. (Ranger quest)
    Delon asks you to go and help the people in the Umar Hills. Go to the Umar Hills area and talk to Minister Lloyd about the killings. He will tell you that he suspects a group of Ogres in the north. First go to the western part of this area and enter the Ranger Cabin. You will find a journal there which gives you a little more insight. Now you go to the Temple Ruins area (AR1404). First follow the werewolf, Anath, into the Wolf Cave and talk to Anath. You will learn that the other wolves have been turned into shadows by the Lord of Shadows. You agree to help Anath take revenge. Go to the temple and you will meet Anath again. She tells you to use the mirror and collect the light that way. Twist the mirror twice and lure the shadow creatures to the crystal. The light will kill them. Enter the Temple and find the pedestal, which holds a Sun Gem. Take the Sun Gem and go to the first Shadow Door. With the Sun Gem you can open that door. The second Shadow Door doesn't have to be opened. You can simply go over the wooden boards to by-pass it. Near the sacrophagus (AR1401; 1960-1570) you will encounter the ghosts of Dettseh, Badon and Amuana. Dettseh's Ghost will ask you to bring him Amuana's Bones, which can be found on a table at location AR1401; 1851-639. Get the bones (17750 exp) and Amuana's ghost will give you a Shadow Dragon Wardstone and a Dawn's Light Symbol. The wardstone helps you get passed the Shadow Dragon, Thaxll'ssillyia, later on. When you come to the hall with the letter tiles on the floor, just walk on the tiles spelling A-M-A-U-N-A-T-O-R and you can cross safe. You will find a statue with a bowl in it's hands. You need to place the three symbols in the bowl if you don't have the Symbol of Amaunator yet (Dawn's Light Symbol, Lightstone Symbol and Sunray Symbol) (21250 exp). The Sunray Symbol can be obtained to pass the Sun God test (45500 exp). The right answers are:

    Morning ritual:

    1. I shall say a prayer to the Light.
    2. I shall hold high the Holy Book that the Sun might bless it.
    3. I shall reflect on the glory of the Light as it conquers the Dark.

    Noon ritual:

    1. I shall sing a hymn of praise to Amaunator.
    2. I shall raise my hands to the Light.
    3. I shall rejoice at the dominance of Light.

    Dusk ritual:

    1. I will recite the Tenets of the Faith.
    2. I will hold high my children that they might see the Sun.
    3. I shall mourn as I watch the Sun give way to the onslaught of Night.

    When you have the Symbol of Amaunator, you can go through the last door. Go past the Dragon (AR1402; 1230-1103) and leave the area to the left to enter the Shade Lord's Lair. After the conversation, first destroy the Altar and then go after the Shade Lord (AR1404; 4796-1513)(25000 exp). Merella will thank you for killing the Shade Lord and she will eventually die. Go back to Minister Lloyd and tell him about the Shade Lord (25000 exp). He will give you The Night's Gift+5 for finishing this quest.

GOVERNMENT DISTRICT
(AR1000)

The story:
A messenger in the Slums told Anomen to go and see his father. That's one of the reasons to travel to the Government District. Anomen's father, Cor Delryn (AR1001; 606-239), can be found inside the Delryn Estate and he will ask his son to revenge his daughter's death. Other places to visit here are: Council of Six Building (AR1002), Firecam Estate (AR1003), Deril Estate (AR1004), The Prison (AR1005), Jysstev Estate (AR1006), Vulova Estate (AR1007), Temple of Waukeen (AR1010). On the streets, you will encounter Madeen (AR1000; 3064-967), who will tell you that Tolgerias, the wizard, wants to speak to you. Tolgerias (AR1002; 767-779) can be found inside the Council of Six Building. To the south of the district, you will find Viconia (AR1000; 1822-1081) tied up. She is about to be burned and you can rescue her. Once she is free, you will have to fight three fanatics. Killing them gives you 1000, 1700 and 2000 exp. Viconia offer to join your party but you will lose 2 reputation points when you accept that offer. Inside the Council of Six Building, you will find Corneil (AR1002; 581-795). Talk to him about a license to use magic and you can buy such a license for 5000 Gold. Outside you will be approached by Jan Jansen, who wants to sell you something. A guard will arrest him and put him in prison. Inside the prison you can talk to the prison guard and pay him 800 Gold to free Jan Jansen. Jan Jansen will offer to join your party.

The quests:

  1. The hunt for Valygar Corthala.
    Tolgerias asks you to find Valygar Corthala and bring him back to the Council of Six Building; dead of alive. Valygar has a house in the Docks so go there first. Inside that house you will encounter Hervo (AR0325; 498-271). He will tell you that Valygar is actually innocent and that he might be hiding in the Umar Hills where he has a piece of land. Go to the Umar Hills and enter Valygar's cabin. Talk to Valygar about the Cowled Wizards. Valygar will tell you that he only killed out of self defense. He will propose to join your party and to enter the sphere. Accept this proposal and add him to your party (9500 exp). Go to the Slums in Athkatla and enter the sphere. Enter the room to the left and kill the clay Golem which is inside the room. Make sure you find the Golem Arm and the Planar Key in one of the containers in this room. Also take the coal here. The room to the right contains a map of the area you are. In this case it shows a top view of Athkatla. Go through the center door and you will meet Reyna, Onvo and Ancan. They will tell you that they are trapped here their selves. They will also tell you about the enemies in the sphere. Go explore the sphere and you will find some more coal, which you need later on. You will encounter Kayardi (6000 exp), Mogadish (14000 exp), Entu (5000 exp), Taibela (8000 exp) and Necre (11000 exp). kill them all and search the rooms thoroughly. You have to find a Golem Arm. In a room to the north, you will have to kill some Golems and a Iron Golem (13000 exp). In this room you will find a Golem Head. Go to the furnace room and use a coal on each furnace. Each furnace will release a Fire Elemental once it's lit. Kill the Fire Elementals (6000 exp). When all three furnaces are lit, go to the Golem creation room with the tubes. Click on the small tubes to attach the Golem Arm and the Golem Head to the Guardian Golem. Then, click on the big tube to release the Guardian Golem. The Golem will walk away; follow him. The Guardian Golem will go to an area with an Elder Orb and he will destroy the Orb. Open the door in this room and enter an other environment (AR0410). You will meet Lavok here (AR0410; 917-435). Attack him until he is almost dead (28750 exp). Lavok will start a conversation and he will explain what really is the matter with him. He will eventually ask Valygar Corthala to help him to get back to Faerun. You have to find a Heart of a Demon. Go all the way back to the entrance of the sphere and go outside (AR0414). Follow the path to the north-east until you can go north. Go north until you can go west. You will encounter Maurezhi (AR0414; 2583-1240). Kill him (6000 exp). When you go west, you will encounter Tanar'ri (AR0414; 2156-1767). Kill him (10000 exp) and loot his body for the Demon Head. Go back to the sphere and enter it again. Go to the room with the four symbols on the floor. Use the symbols in the following order: north, south, east, west. A door will open to the south-east. Go through the door and go down. In the next room, you will encounter Tolgerias (AR0412; 939-1394) and a mage. Kill Tolgerias (18000 exp) and loot his body for the Ring of the Ram. Kill the mage (8000 exp) as well. You can now go through the Ice room or the Fire room to eventually get to the engine room (AR0413). Kill the Golems in the engine room and activate the strange device in the center of the room. The sphere will now return to Athkatla. Go back to the navigator room and talk to Lavok. He will ask you to let him see the sun one last time. Agree to carry him and you will end up in the Slums, just outside the sphere. Lavok will thank you and die (45500 exp for each party member), which finishes this quest.
  2. Anomen returns home after his sister's death.
    Go to the Delryn Estate and talk to Cor Delryn. He will ask Anomen to revenge his sister (Moira Delryn) by killing the murder. Talk to Anomen and convince him not to kill anybody but to go to the authorities and let them handle the matter. Once Anomen agrees (10500 exp), talk to Cor Delryn again. Go to the Council of Six Building and talk to Bylanna Ianulin (AR1002; 535-602) about the murder. Convince Anomen again that he should not kill someone without the proof that he is guilty for sure. Once Anomen understands and gives in, the quest is done (7500 exp).
  3. Anomen's judgement.
    After you've done the second quest, a messenger (Sir Ryan Trawl) will appear after ten days. He will tell you to come to the High Hall within two days to be judged worthy for his knighthood. So go to the Temple district and enter the High Hall of the Radiant Heart. You will meet Sir Ryan Trawl again and he will tell you to go see Prelate Wessalen. If you took the right decisions in the second quest, you will be promoted to knight (10000 exp for the party and 50000 exp for Anomen).

THE DOCKS
(AR0300)

The story:
Several quests lead you to the Docks. Places to visit here, are: Shadow Thief Guildhall (AR0305 + AR0306 + AR0307), Sea's Bounty Tavern (AR0314 + AR0313), Pirates Hide-out (AR0310). Inside the Shadow Thief Guildhall, Renal Bloodscalp will give you a task. Inside the basement of the Sea's Bounty Tavern, you will encounter Baron Ployer (AR0313; 471-341), who will curse Jaheira. In this basement, you can find a secret door, which leads to the Pirate's Hide-out. Inside Prebek's Home you will find Prebek (AR0407; 429-219) and Sanasha (AR0407; 504-278). They will think that they are being tested by their master and they will attack you. Kill Prebek (2500 exp) and Sanasha (2500 exp). You can find Cromwell (AR0334; 506-340) inside his house. He can make special weapons and armor if you have the right 'ingredients'. Outside, on a square, you will find Ikert (AR0300; 1929-2419) the merchant. In area AR0045 you will get a quest where you are asked to bring a poisoned man back to his friends. When you have completed that quest, you will meet Xzar (AR0300; 2370-2471) in the Docks. He will give you a quest.

The quests:

  1. Find proof of Mae'Var's treachery. (Thieves quest)
    Inside the Shadow Thief Guildhall, on the second floor, you will encounter Renal Bloodscalp (AR0306; 816-540). When you have Yoshimo in your party, he will explain that there is an old score to even. Renal Bloodscalp will ask you to find some proof of Mae'Var's treachery. You will get a Letter of Transfer to get inside Mae'Var's Guildhall. Show the Letter of Transfer to Gorch (AR0302; 430-575) and he will tell you that Mae'Var is in the cellar. Go to the cellar and talk to Mae'Var (AR0301; 968-303). He will ask you to steal the amulet from the Weathermistress of the Church of Talos. Go to the Temple district and enter the Temple of Talos during the night. In the south-west corner room, you will find Mistress Ada asleep and the necklace can be found in the chest next to the bed (20000 exp). Go back to Mae'Var and give him the necklace (29500 exp). Mae'Var will now tell you to go see Edwin, who is on the third floor (AR0304; 852-340). Edwin Odesseiron will tell you to kill Rayic Gethras, who lives in a house in the north-west part of the Docks. Enter Rayic Gethras' home and make your way to the 3rd floor where you will encounter Rayic Gethras (AR0317; 453-477). Kill him (9000 exp) and loot his bodies for some nice goodies. Go back to Edwin and report the death of Rayic Gethras (20000 exp). Edwin will now ask you to retrieve some documents from Marcus, a merchant, who can be found at the Sea's Bounty (AR0313; 531-432). Go to the Sea's Bounty and pick pocket Marcus to get Edwin's documents. Go back to Edwin and give him the documents (10000 exp). Edwin tells you to go to Mae'Var to get your last task. Talk to Mae'Var, who will ask you to go kill a traitor called Embarl. Embarl can be found at the Sea's Bounty (AR0314; 578-326). Talk to him and ask for his dagger. Tell him you let him go when he gives his dagger. When he gives his dagger, go back to Mae'Var and give him the dagger (18750 exp). Now, go back to Edwin and ask him about the proof against Mae'Var. Edwin will tell you that the proof is in Mae'Var's room. You will get a key from Edwin to open Mae'Var's strongbox in his room on the second floor (AR0303; 506-293). Get the letter and go to the Shadow Thief Guildhall to see Renal Bloodscalp. Give him the letter (48250 exp) and he will ask you to go and kill Mae'Var to end this matter. So, go back to Mae'Var and kill him (14000 exp) and his friends. Return to Renal Bloodscalp and report your success. He will give you 10500 Gold and a Short Sword of Backstabbing for your efforts.

  2. Save Jaheira from Baron Ployer's curse.
    In the basement of the Sea's Bounty Tavern, you will meet Baron Ployer. When you have Jaheira in your party, he will cast a spell on her. Jaheira will tell you that the barkeeper of the Copper Coronet, Bernard, will know about the whereabouts of Baron Ployer. So, go to the Slums, visit the Copper Coronet and talk to Bernard about Baron Ployer. He tells you that Jaheira's friend, Belgrade, was killed by the same curse and was found in the east end of the Slums. Enter the Delerict home (AR0409) and meet Baron Ployer again. He will summon a few friends. Kill Terrece (5000 exp), Malacazar (3500 exp), Gracien (3500 exp) and Baron Ployer (6000 exp). Search the remains of Ployer to find a Lock of Jaheira's Hair. Now go to the Copper Coronet and rest a full night to get the curse off Jaheira (21250 exp).

  3. Find out what happened to Montaron.
    When you encounter Xzar, he will start talking to you and he will give you this quest. He will ask you to enter the Harper's Hold and to free Montaron. Go to Rylock, who is guarding the Harper's Hold, and talk to him. He will tell you that you will have to kill Prebek and his friends first. Go to Prebek's Home, find Prebek (AR0407; 429-219) and kill him (2500 exp). Now concentrate on Sanasha (AR0407; 504-278) and kill her too (2500 exp). Go back to Rylock and he will tell you that you may enter the Harper's Hold. He warns you not to go to the second floor. Enter the Harper's Hold and search for a Harper Amulet. You can find it on a table in one of the rooms to the right (AR0308; 1002-299). Make sure you wear the amulet and then go upstairs to the second floor. You can talk a little with the Harpers there but you better search the place thoroughly. You will find a note that implies that the thief has turned into a bird. Go to the room to the north-east and enter the big bird-cage. Catch the bird (20000 exp) and leave the Hold. Once outside, go to Xzar and talk to him again. Give him the bird and he will try to change it back into his friend Montaron. Lucette appears instead and kills Xzar. Loot Xzar's body and find a Black Opal, Bracers of DefenseAC6, a Friends-scroll, 954 Gold, a Pearl, a Slow-scroll, a Staff Spear+2 and a Vampiric Touch-scroll.

  4. Aran's tasks to receive the Shadow Thieves' aid.
    When you have done quest 1 of the Slums area (gave the money to Gaelan Bayle), you will be told to meet Aran Linvail in the Shadow Thief Guildhall. Aran Linvail can be found in the basement (AR0307; 4602-2052). He will ask you to perform a few tasks for him before the guild will aid you to find Imoen. He will give you an Amulet of Power and a Ring of Protection+2 as a token of trust.

  5. Summoned to the Harper Hold.
    When you have visited the Harper Hold during solving quest 3 of this area, Jaheira will soon be addressed by Meronia. She will ask Jaheira to come to the Harper Hold. Jaheira will leave your party and go. After a while, Jaheira will come back and she will ask you to accompany her to the Harper Hold. Let her join your party again and go to the Harper Hold. Once inside, Galvarey will start a conversation and he will ask you all kind of questions. Avoid them as much as possible and eventually Galvarey will make clear that he wants to lock you up. When the conversation is over, you find out that the Harpers, present in this room, are hostile. Kill all five of them to finish this quest (3000 exp for each and 4000 exp for Galvarey).

  6. The return to Harper Hold.
    This quest can be initiated anywhere after you finished the previous quest. After a while, Dermin Courtierdale will cross your path and he will tell you that the Harpers have decided that Jaheira has to appear before them because she is accused for being a traitor and a murder. Jaheira will tell him that she will think about it. Dermin leaves. Once you rested, after this encounter, you will find that Jaheira has gone and left you a note. Go to the Docks District and enter the Harpers Hold. Kill the mercenaries and go upstairs to meet Jaheira. Let her re-join your party and go back down. Kill the mercenaries and leave the Hold.

THE TEMPLE DISTRICT
(AR0900)

The story:
Some quests will draw you to this area. This area contains the entrances to the sewers. Interesting places to visit are: Temple of Helm (AR0901), Temple of Lathander (AR0902), Temple of Talos (AR0904). On the streets, you will witness a disagreement between two priests. After their quarrel, Oisig will address you and ask you to follow him. Do so, and you will get a new quest. Inside the Temple of Talos, you will find Mistress Ada (AR0904; 744-1133), who will provide you with healing and other magical goodies. These services can also be purchased from Sir Donalus (AR0901; 870-460), who you can find inside the Temple of Helm.

The quests:

  1. Investigate and destroy the Cult of the Eyeless. (Priest quest)
    On the streets, you will asked to follow High Watcher Oisig to the Temple of Helm. Inside the Temple of Helm you will find Oisig (AR0901; 695-570) again. He will tell you about a cult that hides underground. He will ask you to enter the sewers and to find the cult's hideout. Enter the sewers and find the entrance to the Old Tunnels (AR0202). Go inside the tunnels and find Gaal to the south-west (AR0202; 2499-2164). You will have to pass a gas chamber but you can use the wheel in the middle to get out that chamber again. Talk to Gaal and he will tell you to retrieve a part of a rod in order to be able to join the Cult. He gives you Gaal's key to enter the inner chambers. The part of the rod is somewhere in there laying on a holy altar. Go back to the beginning of the tunnels and open the door to the inner chambers. You will meet Sassar there and he will tell you not to retrieve the rod for Gaal. He tells you to retrieve the part of the rod and then to return to him. He will then tell you how to get the other half of the rod. Once both parts of the rod are together, it can be used to destroy the One God. From Sassar, go all the way west until you come to a stairway. Go down to the inner chambers. Go to the east and you will come to a broken bridge (AR0204; 3296-2387). Activate it and you will have to answer three questions to have the bridge restored. The answers are: Life - Time - Current one. Cross the bridge and kill the foes on the other side. Continue following the path and talk to the diseased one, who is standing just outside the Temple (AR0204; 2432-923). Enter the Temple and you will encounter the Empathic Manifest (AR0203; 626-491). Use 'Cure Light Wounds' on it and it will be defeated. Now, the Avatar appears (AR0203; 496-455). He will tell you about the agreement of long ago. He will ask you to take the Rift Device Part and combine it with the other part to restore the rod, which can kill the Beholder. After destroying the Beholder, you should return to the Temple with the complete rod so the Avatar can destroy it. You should also tell his followers that he only wants the rod to be destroyed and that he wants to release them from their duties. Agree with him and you will receive the Rift Device Part. Leave the Temple and talk to the diseased one again. Go back to Sassar and he will tell you how to get the other half of the rod. You should go to the pit in the Cult's Temple. Find a friend of Sassar, Tad, near the Pit of Faithless and say "The eye is blind". He will show you a secret entrance to a niche where the other half of the rod is being kept. So, go to the Cult's domain and find Tad (AR0202; 1520-2020). Say "The eye is blind" and he will know that Sassar sent you. He will tell you to go down the pit to get to the niche where the other half of the rod is. So, go down the pit and enter the Pit of Faithless. Fight the enemies here and find the pools with the goodies. In the pool to the south-east (AR0205; 3052-1518) you will find the Rift Device Part. Take it and the two parts will be merged (26250 exp). Leave this place and you will encounter the Unseeing Eye in one of the corridors. Equip the Rift Device and attack the Unseeing Eye with it. Once the Unseeing Eye is dead (30000 exp), leave this area and return to the Avatar in the Temple. The diseased one will talk to you and follow you into the Temple. Convince him to have faith in the Avatar and the Avatar will appear again. He will take the rod from you (47250 exp) and he will give you the Saving Grace+3. Now, go back to the Cult's domain and kill Gaal (14000 exp) and his guards. Leave the sewers and go back to the Temple of Helm in the Temple district. Talk to High Watcher Oisig (+1 reputation) and he will give you 7000 gold and a Ardulia's Fall+1.

  2. Paladin Stronghold duties.
    After you have finished the Windspear Hills-quest, you can go to the Temple of the Radiant Heart and talk to Prelate Wessalen. He will tell you to go and see Sir William Reirrac, who will give you some tasks to prove your worth to the guild.

THE GRAVEYARD
(AR0800)

The story:
There is not much of importance in this area. A few quests can be done here. Places to visit are: Lower Tombs (AR0801), Crypts (AR0805 + AR0806 + AR0807 + AR0810 + AR0811 + AR0812 + AR0813), Southern Dungeons (AR0802), Spider's Den (AR0804) Inside the Spider's Den, you will encounter Pai'Na (AR0804; 498-488). Kill him (4000 exp) and loot his remains for a Black Spider Figurine. There's a grave which you can open (AR0800; 967-668). Tirdir will come out and give you a quest. You will meet Stein (AR0800; 1714-1059) when you come to the graveyard at night. He is robbing the graves. Talk to him and tell him that it's unacceptable. He will call two friends of him and they will attack you. Kill them all (1000 exp for each mugger).

The quests:

  1. Uncle Lester has risen from his grave.
    When you encounter Nevin (AR0800;706-1557), he will tell you that his uncle Lester has risen from his grave. After he is done talking to you, uncle Lester will appear. He starts talking to Nevin and after they are done Lester starts attacking Nevin. Kill Lester (1000 exp) and this quest is done (6500 exp)

  2. Find the kidnappers who burried Tirdir.
    When you open the grave, near the mourners, Tirdir comes out and tells you that he was burried alive by some kidnappers. He asks you to find the kidnappers and bring them to justice. He gives you a piece of red cloth that must have been of one of the kidnapper's clothes. Opening the grave so Tirdir can come out gives you 6500 exp already. He also tells you that there was someone else present at the time. He thinks it was the gravekeeper. Go find Sethle (AR0800; 1547-406) and talk to him. When you put a little pressure on him, he will tell that the man in red was his contact and that he should be somewhere in the Bridge District. Go to the Bridge District and explore the south. You will encounter Am-Si (AR0500; 1686-3522). Talk to him and he will run away. Follow him and find his companions. Once they noticed you, they kill Am-Si and they run away. Go find them and kill them. You will have to find Reti (1250 exp).

  3. Put the spirit of the child Wellyn to rest.
    When you are on the graveyard, you will encounter Wellyn. He is wandering around in the night. Talk to him and he will tell you that someone murdered him and took his stuffed bear. He won't get any rest before his bear has been retrieved. Go to the Slums and enter The Copper Coronet. Go to the back and you will find Llynis in one of the rooms (AR0406; 668-550). Talk to him about the ghost that haunts him and demand to give you the bear. He will give you Littleman The Stuffed Bear. If he doesn't give it voluntarily, you may have to kill him for it. Go back to the graveyard and give the bear to Wellyn (15500 exp). Talk to the mourners (AR0800; 1650-1738) during the day and they will thank you for what you've done (5000 exp).

  4. Locate a caretaker for the orphan, Lisa.
    To the south-east you will encounter Arenthis (AR0800; 2344-1879) and Risa (AR0800; 2362-1928). Arenthis will tell you that he is looking for a caretaker for Lisa. Agree to help him and go searching for Kamir (AR0800; 920-821). Tell him that you have a child that needs a caretaker. Kamir will go and see Arenthis (12250 exp). Follow him back to Arenthis to finish this quest (3000 exp).

THE CITY GATES
(AR0020)

The story:
This is just a small area with little to do. There is an Inn and you will find Tiiro (AR0022; 832-326) and Aulava (AR0022; 865-361) on the second floor. They have problems with their parents, who don't approve them to be lovers. You can give them a little advice if you like. Outside, you can find Flydian (AR0020; 487-682) who will give you a quest. There is also a secret door in the north wall of the Inn. When you open it, a Lich appears. Kill it first (22000 exp and a Ring of Invisibility. Behind the door is a tomb.

The quests:

  1. Animal Trouble in Trademeet.
    Flydan will ask you to help free Trademeet from it's invasion. Go to Trademeet and talk to High Merchant Logan Coprith (AR2007; 1220-427). He will ask you to escort Cernd in order to try to discover the source of the animal attacks. Go down to the cells and talk to Cernd (AR2009; 332-294). You can let him join your party if you want or you can let him mark the Druid's grove on your map. Either way, go to the Druid Grove (AR1900) and go all the way north. You will meet Cernd again (AR1900; 2431-603). Talk to him and let him present himself to Faldorn. You will be teleported into the grove (AR1901) and Cernd will defeat Faldorn for you. Go back to Trademeet and talk to High Merchant Logan Coprith. He will give you 2000 gold for finishing the job.

THE UMAR HILLS
(AR1100)

The story:
Several quests lead you to this area. There are a few interesting locations here, as there are: Valygar's Cabin (AR1101), The Ranger's Cabin (AR1102), Jermien's Home (AR1103), Minister Lloyd's Home (AR1104), The Umar Inn (AR1105) and The Umar Cave (AR1106). You can find several merchants in this area. They are gathered in front of the Umar Inn. You will find Beherant Diir (AR1100; 3448-2895), Fael (AR1100; 3489-2856), Elence Fielding (AR1100; 3573-2883) and Min Mining (AR1100; 3452-2985), who have lots of goodies for sale. To the north, you will encounter Madulf (AR1100; 3290-722), who is suspected by the people of the village to be the killer. You will get a nice side quest from Madulf. Jermien can be found inside his home. He has a nice side quest for you too. Valygar, who is inside his cabin, will give you a side quest as well if you let him join your party.

The quests:

  1. Madulf wants to make a deal with the village.
    When you encounter Madulf, you will notice that he is not aggressive at all. The people in the village think that he is the killer. Talk to Madulf and he will tell you that he is not the killer and that his friends have been killed as well. He will ask you to go to the village and tell them that he does no harm to the people of the village and that he wants to trade with them. Go to Minister Lloyd and tell him this. He is very happy to hear this (27500 exp) and tells you that he will go to talk to Madulf. Make sure that you visit Lloyd after a few days again. After that, go talk to Madulf once more and he will give you the Shield of the Lost+2.

  2. Find Mimic's blood for Jermien the Cowled Wizard.
    When you talk to Jermien, he will ask you to get him some Mimic's blood. Go to the Umar Cave in the north of this area and enter it. Inside you will find a chest (935-1062). When you first try to open it, it seems that it's actually a Killer Mimic. There are also two Umber Hulks summoned. Kill the Killer Mimic first (3000 exp) and then kill the Umber Hulks (4000 exp each). Open the chest and take the Mimic's Blood from it. Go back to Jermien and give him the blood (19250 exp). The stone Golem will come alive and attack Jermien. Kill the stone Golem (8000 exp) and Jermien will give you a short sword called 'Libratha+1'. This quest is now finished (21250 exp).

There are a lot of places to go and people to meet here, like there are: The Smithy (AR2001), Fentan Home (AR2002), Tiris' Home (AR2006), The Mayor's house (AR2007), The Temple of Waukeen (AR2008), Vyatri's Pub (AR2010), Alibakkar Estate (AR2011), Lurraxol Estate (AR2012), The Trademeet Crypt (AR2013), The Dao Djinni Tent (AR2014) and some other tents (AR2015, AR2016 and AR2017). The mayor, High Merchant Logan Coprith, has another quest for you once you have finished the Druid quest. Two noble villagers also have a quest for you. In the streets of Trademeet, you will encounter Neebler. He will follow you and talk to you all the time. Talk to him approximately 15 times and he will stop annoying you. Each member of your party will receive 1000 exp then.

The quests:

  1. Dealing with the Trademeet Genies.
    Once you have finished the Druid quest, Logan Coprith will ask you to aid him with this quest. He tells you to go talk to Guildmistress Busya (AR2007; 703-492) for further details. Busya will tell you about the genies controlling the trade. They won't leave before they have the head of the Rakshara. So either you find Rakshara or you kill the genies. Enter the Dao Djinni Tent (AR2014) and talk to Khan Zahraa. He will tell you that he and his friends are hunting Ithafeer, the Rakshasa. Offer him to get the Rakshasa for him. Now, go to the north-east part of this area and talk to Itona (AR2000; 3759-84). She will tell you that Adratha probably is the Rakshasa you are looking for. Go to the Druid Grove area (AR1900) and enter Adratha's Cottage. Talk to Adratha, who appears to be Ithafeer (kill = 15000 exp). She will summon two companions: Jalaal (kill = 3000 exp) and Saadat (kill = 3000 exp). Kill them all and loot the remains of Ithafeer to get Ithafeer's head. Go back to Khan Zahraa and talk to him. He will take the head and give you a Scimitar+2 (Rashad's Talon) in return (10000 exp). Now, go to Guildmistress Busya and tell her the genies have gone. She will reward you with 7500 Gold, a Rogue Stone, a Diamond, a Jade Ring, a Pearl Necklace and the Shield of Harmony+2. She will tell you to talk to Logan Coprith as well. Do so and he will make you the heroes of Trademeet (reputation +1). He will talk to the villagers and give you a last reward of 10750 Gold (25250 exp for each of the party members). He will also tell you to go and see the statues at the fountain.

  2. Helping Tiris in Trademeet.
    When you did the genies quest, you will encounter Jenia (AR2000; 3599-2928) just outside the Dao Djinni Tent. She will ask you to see her son and find out why he is so afraid. Go to Tiris' Home and talk to Tiris (AR2006; 272-180). He will tell you that his girlfriend, Raissa, was held by a guy named Rejiek and he asks you to go rescue Raissa.. He tells you to go search in the woods near the south-west gate. Before you go further, make sure that you have a Restoration-scroll in your inventory. You can purchase one at the Temple of Waukeen. Go to the south-west gate and you will meet Darsidian Moor (AR2000; 87-2885), who will tell you that he is hunting the Skin Dancer. Tell him that you are looking for the Skin Dancer as well. Ask him where you can find the Skin Dancer. He will tell you to leave town by the eastern gate. He will meet you there. Go to the east part of town and you will find him at the gate of a small square (AR2000; 3791-2087). You will also find Raissa there (AR2000; 3712-2028). They will tell you that they had to fight Rejiek, who is on the ground (AR2000; 3744-1884), and they will ask you to kill him before he stands up again. Go to Rejiek and talk to him until 'Raissa' and Darsidian Moor will change into Skin Dnacers and attack you. Kill both 'Raissa' (14 exp) and Darsidian Moor (1400 exp). Now talk to 'Rejiek the Hidesman' and he will appear to be the real Raissa. She will ask you to find a Restoration spell and use it on her. So, use the Restoration spell on Raissa to get her back to normal (30000 exp). Go back to Tiris' Home and talk to Gristor (AR2006; 401-374) and to Jenia (AR2006; 376-404) to finish this quest (reputation +1).

  3. The dueling families of Trademeet.
    After the mayor has spoken to the villagers about your heroic deeds, Lady Lilith Lurraxol and Lord Skarmaen Alibakkar will approach you and ask you to come visit them in their estate. It doesn't matter which one you chose to talk to so go visit one of them. They will both ask you to enter the tomb and retrieve the Mantle of Waukeen. You will get the Trademeet Tomb key to get into the tomb. Go to the Trademeet Crypt and open the doors. Once the doors are opened, Logan Coprith appears and he will ask you to bring the Mantle of Waukeen to him instead of giving it to either Lilith Lurraxol or Skarmaen Alibakkar. Enter the Crypt and kill the skeletons. Loot the remains of the skeleton warriors to find the Mantle of Waukeen. Take the Mantle to Logan Coprith and he will give you 250 Gold (8000 exp and reputation +1).

THE DRUID GROVE
(AR1900)

The story:
In this area, you will have to defeat the source of the evil, Faldorn. In the woods you will find many Trolls and Druids. There is a cottage where Adratha lives (AR1902). She sells potions. You will encounter Kyland Lind, in the center of this area (AR1900; 2861-1524). Kill him (4000 exp) and his companions. You can also find the Troll Mound in the south-west corner of this area. Inside this mound, you have to kill the Troll Shaman (10000 exp) and the Troll Spirit (18000 exp). Eventually you will be here to finish the quest, you got from Flydan. Find Cernd and he will lead you to Faldorn (AR1901). When you have defeated Faldorn, you should come back to this area later.

WINDSPEAR HILLS
(AR1200)

The story:
The main quest for Paladins will lead you to this area. When you first enter this area, you will be attacked by some monsters. Once you have killed them, Garren Windspear appears and offers you shelter in his cabin. When you accept this offer, you will be at the doorsteps of the cabin. There is not very much to do but the Paladin quest here.

  1. The Mask of King Strohm.
    When you are inside the dungeons, solving the Paladin quest, you will encounter Samia (AR1202; 2537-1337). She will tell you that she is looking for the texts of the tomb. However, she doesn't seem to get to the tomb. She will ask you to get the texts for her. When you agree, she will give you Samia's Key. To get to the tomb you need to find and kill the six Guardians. They all wear a piece of the Burial Mask so you have to kill them (8000 exp each). The guardians can be found at the following locations: (AR1202; 2468-886), (AR1202; 3033-506), (AR1202; 3204-887), (AR1202; 2953-1327), (AR1202; 3349-1472) and (AR1202; 3647-1261). When you have all six pieces of the mask, the pieces will get together and eventually you will have the Mask of King Strohm. Equip the mask and go north to the tomb. You will now be able to see the last guardian. Kill him and go to the tomb (AR1202; 3373-147). You will find a Long Sword and a Medium Shield there. Once you have looted the tomb, Samia and her friends will appear and attack you. Kill Samia (9000 exp), Akae (6000 exp), Chak (6000 exp), Kaol (8000 exp), Legdoril (6000 exp) and Ferric Ironblade (8000 exp) to finish this quest.

The story:
The only reason to come to this area is to solve the Fighter's quest you got from Nalia in the Slums. Actually, the only place of interest is the Hold itself. You can meet Daleson in here and you will find a forge and a Cauldron.

BRYNNLAW ISLAND
(AR1600)

The story:
After you completed the tasks for Aran Linvail, you will be taken to Brynnlaw Island where chapter four begins. Talk to Captain Saemon Havarian, after he left the ship, and you will be attacked by Parisa, Valen and Del. Kill them (8500 exp for killing Parisa). Your main goal here is to get into the Spellhold to free Imoen. Once in the Spellhold, you will be put into the underground dungeons of the Spellhold. You will get a last chance to stay alive. The only thing you have to do is to get out of the dungeons. Captain Saemon Havarian will eventually take you back off the island. However, his ship will be attacked and you will be captured by Sahuagin, who will take you to Sahuagin City.

The quests:

  1. Island Concerns: Ginia's Tale.
    While exploring the island, you will eventually encounter Ginia (AR1600; 3451-1693). She will ask you for a donation. Give her 1 Gold and she will tell you that she was forced to be a courtesan. Her brother Ason (whom you will encounter somewhere on this island) was captured by Chremy and they cannot leave the island. Go find Chremy (AR1600; 1821-1462) and talk to him about Ginia and Ason. He will become hostile and he will attack you. Kill him (1100 exp) and loot his body for Galvena's Medallion. Now find Calahan (AR1600; 1589-1746) and talk to him about Ginia and Ason. He will tell you that he wants 100 gold for each to take them off the island. Pay him the 200 Gold (2000 exp) and go back to Ginia. Tell Ginia that Chremy is dead and that Calahan has already been paid for hers and Ason's trip off the island (9000 exp).

  2. Getting inside the Asylum.
    Go to the Vulgar Monkey and talk to Sanik (AR1602; 504-509). During your conversation, an assassin will appear and kill Sanik. Kill the assassin (900 exp) and talk to the innkeeper. He will tell you about the courtesans being treated as slaves. Go to the Guild-house and talk to the courtesan outside (AR1600; 1185-1531). She will tell you to get a medallion to be able to wander around inside the Guild-house. The medallion can be obtained by killing Chremy. Get the medallion and show it to the courtesan. Ask her to take you inside to her room. She will agree when you promise to kill Lady Galvena and free all the courtesans. Once inside her room, she tells you that you will not be able to wander around much. Even though you have the medallion. She will give you a Sleeping Draught, which you will have to give to the cook and convince him to put it in the food. So go to the kitchen (AR1612) and talk to Ellie. Convince her to help you and eventually she will agree. Give her the Sleeping Draught (1000 exp) and she will go to give the guards a 'special' ale. Follow the courtesan and watch her put the guards to sleep. Enter Lady Galvena's room and wait until the guard is asleep. Open the closet (AR1613; 137-282) and take Galvena's Key. Leave the room and enter the prison section (AR1610). You will encounter Galvena (AR1610; 477-297), Vadek (AR1610; 530-279) and Claire (AR1610; 444-240). Kill Galvena (4000 exp) and Vadek and then talk to Claire. She will take you to Captain Golin (AR1600; 768-2172). The Captain tells you to go and talk to Desharik and proof to him that you are unstable in the mind. You could also go see Perth the Adept and ask for his ward stone. These are the two possibilities to enter the Spellhold. Go back into Lady Galvena's Festhall and talk to Ellie again (2250 exp for each party member). Go to the Pirate Lord's Home and tell the guard that Captain Golin sent you. You can now enter the building. Find Desharik (AR1601; 661-554) and talk to him. Say you need to go to the Spellhold because you need help. Say: "I am clearly deranged. Look who I travel with! Minsc, meet the Pirate Lord!". Then let Minsc do the talking. Eventually, Desharik will send you off to the Spellhold (AR1515). You can leave your cell and wander around a little. After a while, Jon Irenicus will appear and capture you inside a tube. He will tell you that Imoen is also a child of Bhaal. Eventually, he will send you into some kind of a dream that takes place in Candlekeep (AR0028).

  3. The transformation and the dream.
    Jon Irenicus has send you into a dream and you will find yourself outside Candlekeep. Go to the main entrance and you will see a Demon just in front of it. Talk to the Demon and he will tell you that you have to sacrifice 1 point of Intelligence, 1 point of Dexterity, 1 point of Constitution or 1 point of Wisdom to enter the keep. Choose one of the possibilities and enter the keep (AR0012). Find Imoen further on in the building and talk to her. She will tell you that you have to find Bhaal and that you must not fight him but just lure him to Imoen. Go outside and go to the west where you will find Bhaal (AR0028; 1000-1745). Talk to him and after the conversation, he will follow you. Go back to Imoen and she will tell you that Bhaal is vulnerable now. Attack Bhaal and after a while, the dream is over. You are back in the tube where Irenicus tells you that he has taken your soul. Irenicus instructs Bodhi to get rid of you. You will be places deep inside the Asylum. Bodhi tells you to run the gauntlet in order to save your life.

  4. Escaping the Asylum.
    You will find yourself deep inside the Asylum. Bodhi just told you that you have to run the gauntlet in order to save your life. Explore the dungeons and you will come to a room with the statue of riddles. There are 12 stone faces carved in the wall. Click twice on each face and a riddle will be given. The correct answers are:

    1. Lighter than what I am made of, more of me is hidden than is seen, I am the bane of the mariner, a tooth within the sea ..... ICE

    2. A spitited jig it dances bright, banishing all but darkest night. Give it food and it will live; give it water and it will die ..... FIRE

    3. The man who invented it, doesn't want it for himself. The man who bought it, doesn't need it for himself. The man who needs it, doesn't knowit when he needs it ..... A COFFIN

    4. The life I lead is mere hours or less, I serve all my time by being consumed. I am quickest when thin, slowest when fat, and wind is the bane of the gift that I bring ..... A CANDLE

    5. The more that there is, the less that you see. Squint all you wish when surrounded by me ..... DARKNESS

    6. They come to witness the night without being called. A sailor's guide and a poet's tears. They are lost to sight each day without the hand of a thief ..... STARS

    7. They follow and lead, but only as you pass. Dress yourself in darkest black, and they are darker still. Always they flee the light, though without the sun there would be none ..... SHADOWS

    8. I have holes throughout, from back to front and top to bottom to core. More nothing than something within, and yet I still hold water ..... A SPONGE

    9. I am free for the taking through all of your life, though given but once at birth. I am less than nothing in weight, but will fell the strongest of you if held ..... BREATH

    10. Alive as you but without breath, as cold in my life as in my death; never a thirst though I always drink, dressed in a mail but never a clinck ..... FISH

    11. Of all your possessions, I am the hardest to guard. If you have me, you will want to share me. If you share me, you no longer have me ..... A SECRET

    12. I can have no color, though there may be darkness within. I have no weight and hold nothing, and if placed in a container it becomes all the lighter ..... A HOLE

When all the riddles are answered correct, each party member receives 5000 exp. You will also receive a Ring of Regeneration. Go explore the dungeons further and you will come to a room with a chest in the middle and 11 statues along the walls. You have to click each statue to get a riddle. Take the item related to that riddle from the chest and place it in the hand of the statue which gave you the riddle. The riddles with the related items are as follows:

  1. At night I come without being fetched, at day I am gone without being stolen ..... STAR MEDALLION

  2. No beginning. No end. I am a symbol of the world's cycles ..... GOLDEN CIRCLET

  3. Two brothers we are, great burdens we bear, all day we are bitterly pressed; yet this I will say - We are full all the day, and empty when we go to rest ..... WORN OUT BOOTS

  4. Here, in this place, you swallow me. Yet, were I more, I could swallow you ..... JAR OF WATER

  5. I have seen the mountains rise. I have seen the fall of Netheril. You shall die but still shall I march on ..... SUNDIAL

  6. To those within the dungeon I am joy. To those fully beneath my gaze, I can be hell ..... SUN MEDALLION

  7. I will save your life but yet can you die by me. I will settle disputes yet not with words ..... SWORD MEDALLION

  8. Name me and so shall you break me ..... THE GAGGED MAN

  9. Always do I tell the truth, yet cannot speak. Look to me and see what really is ..... MIRROR

When all items have been placed into the right hand (20000 exp), the chest will contain a Sapphire Stone and a Dusty Rose Ioun Stone. Go on and explore the rest of the dungeons. You will find a room with a portal inside. When you click on the portal, a Genie will appear and he will give you a Doomplate+3. Now, enter the south-east part of the dungeons and go through the secret door to the north. You will find a group of Kobolds, gathered around a crystal; kill them all and get Kurtulmak's Crystal Shard. Continue your way to the south-west part and find Dace Sontan (AR1513; 772-1915) in a room. After a small conversation, he will attack you. Kill him (8500 exp) and his spirit will go inside the coffin. Use a wooden stake on the coffin to set him free. This will give you The Hand of Dace (builder's hand). Leave this area and go back to the big statue that blocked the way (AR1512; 730-2110) Now you have The Hand of Dace and the crystal shard, it will open a passage so you can continue your travels. Go through the mouth of the statue and enter the second part of the maze (AR1514). First find a small circular room with three little statues posted along the wall and a pit in the middle of the room. The statues contain the Troll-, Umberhulk- and Djinni paintings. Take them because you need them to open passages to other areas. There is a room to the north where you see four faces carved in the wall. Use the appropriate paintings to open the passages behind the faces. Behind one door you will have to defeat Ulitharid (AR1514; 1431-181)(11000 exp) who has the Flame of the North. Behind an other door you will have to defeat a Spirit Troll (AR1514; 1507-362)(8000 exp) who has the Malakar+2. Behind one of the doors you will have to defeat a Noble Djinni (AR1514; 1837-451)(10000 exp) who has a Spell Sequencer-scroll. Behind one door you will have to defeat an Umber Hulk (AR1514; 1725-357)(10000 exp). Behind the door with the Umber Hulk, there is a passage which leads to a small circular room. In that room there is a machine in the middle (AR1514; 1445-967). The machine can be activated by inserting Mithril Tokens. It will produce Boots of the North for 5 tokens, Boots of Grounding for 10 tokens and Boots of Speed for 15 tokens. The same passage also leads to a room with three Golems inside. In that room is a chest with some goodies. When you come to a big statue, to the south part of this area, you will notice that it misses it's horns. Two Minotaur Horns can be found in the maze (see list below). Click on the statue when you have the two Minotaur Horns and a door will open. You will also encounter Bodhi in this room. When you start to fight her, you will change into the Slayer. After a while you will be normal again. Go through the door, which was opened by the statue. Kill all the enemies in this room and a Specter will teleport you to a small area. Kill the Spore Colony and an apparition will ask you the following question:
Twas in the wood that I got it, so I sat me down to seek it. I could not find it no matter how hard I looked, and so I took it home with me.  A SPLINTER
When you answered that question, you will be teleported to an other area. In this area there are four apparitions, who will ask you questions. If you answer the questions right, they will teleport you to an other area. The questions and answers are as follows:

  1. AR1511; 258-561: It is better than the best of things and worse than the worst of things. You love it more than life. You fear it more than death. The rich have need of it, and the poor have it in endless supply ..... NOTHING

  2. AR1511; 290-381: It runs as it will, but never does it walk. There is a mouth to see, but never does it talk. A bed it surely owns, but never does it sleep. Possesses it a head, but not a one that weeps ..... A RIVER

  3. AR1511; 427-278: I make you weak at the worst of all times, but in the end I keep you safe. You'll sweat in my presence even as you grow cold. I dwell with the weak, rarely the brave, but without me, who could tell the difference? ..... FEAR

  4. AR1511; 705-250: It brings back the lost as though never gone, shines laughter or tears, with light long since shone. A moment to make, a lifetime to shed, valued when, but lost when you're dead ..... MEMORY

You will be teleported to area AR1506. Kill the Trolls and get the Giant Troll's Head from one of them. Place the Troll Head on the altar (AR1506; 1620-470) and you will get  a Bone Club+2,+3 vs. Undead in return. Talk to the apparition and he will teleport you to area AR1508 where you will be judged by him. If you answered the previous questions right (51250 exp for each party member), you will end up in area AR1516 again. Saemon Havarian is there and he will tell you that you cannot defeat Jon Irenicus without help. He suggests that you free the inmates to let them help you. Go to the north and go up the stairs. You will meet Lonk the Sane. Talk to him and offer him 2000 Gold. He will free the inmates and after a short discussion with the inmates, you will be teleported to Irenicus' room. Fight Irenicus until he flees (68500 exp for each party member). Now, kill Yoshimo as well and take his heart from his remains. When you bring this heart to a Temple of Ilmater, your party will gain 200000 exp. Kill the murderers and leave the room. Go back up to where the prisoners were held and you will meet Saemon Havarian again. He will offer you to get out of this place. Accept his offer and you will end up outside in area AR1500. You can enter the Asylum by an other entrance now to get some more goodies. Eventually you can go to the south-west to go back to the village.

  1. Leaving the Island.
    Saemon Havarian is waiting for you in the Vulgar Monkey. He wants you to steal a horn from Desharik. At night, the horn will be in the house of Cayia. So wait until it's night and go to the house of Cayia. Grab the Pirate Horn from the table (AR1606; 539-209) and kill the guards. Go to the east side of the docks to meet Saemon Havarian (AR1600; 2949-2503) and give him the Horn. Once on Desharik's ship, Desharik comes aboard. Kill his pirates and he will leave. Saemon will give you a Silver Blade whether you want it or not. During the trip, the ship will be attacked by Githyanki. They are looking for the blade. During the battle with the Githyanki, the ship starts to sink. The Githyanki will leave and you will be captured by the Sahuagin. Later in the game, you will encounter the Githyanki, who are looking for their Silver Blade (if you still have it in your possession).

SAHUAGIN CITY
(AR2300)

The story:
On the way from Brynnlaw Island to the main land, the ship has been attacked and you are captured by the Sahuagin. They take you to their city, deep below under water. The city is ruled by King lxiltherocal and he suffers battles with the rebels. The king will ask you to prove that you are the ones sent by Sekolah. To proof that, you have to defeat an Ettin. After that, the king will ask you to help him fight the rebels and bring him the heart of Prince Villynaty. He tells you to go and see the Royal High Priestess Senityili. The priestess will tell you that the king is not knowing what he is doing and that she wants the Prince to take over command. She asks you to talk to the prince and try to convince him to take over the throne. Here you can either help the king or help the priestess and thus the prince. In this case, we will help the prince. In the end, you will have to go to the Underdark to get out of this area.

The quests:

  1. The Prophecy of Sekolah.
    King lxilthetocal (AR2300; 177-767) needs proof to be sure that you are the ones sent by Sekolah. You will have to fight an Ettin in the arena. Kill the Ettin (5000 exp) and you will be granted to freely walk in the city. The King asks you to help him fight the rebels. Go talk to Royal High Priestess Senityili (AR2300; 1350-182) and she will tell you about the locked doors that lead to the rebel's camp. The door can only be opened when you have Sekolah's tooth. The tooth is to be found in the area to the south. She also asks you to talk to Prince Villinaty so he might consider to come back to the village and be their leader. You will receive the Rebel's Orb so you can go passed the rebel's guards. Go to the south and make sure you use Detect Traps. When you come to a Beholder, convince him to be able to have a look inside the chest he is guarding (AR2300; 1057-2459). When he agrees, open the chest and take Sekolah's Tooth from it. Then tell him that it's useless to guard an empty chest and he will leave (15000 exp). Now, go to the north-east part of the area and go down the stairs to the lower part of the city. Continue to the south and open the doors to the rebel camp. A guard will recognize the orb and he will ask you if you want to talk to the leader. If you confirm that, he will take you to Prince Villinaty (AR2300; 4470-2750). The Prince will propose a plan to take over the throne. He will provide you with a fake heart and ask you to go and give it to the king. If you agree, you will receive the fake heart. Go back to the king and make sure you don't attack anyone on the way. Once the alarm was given that the rebels are attacking, you kill King lxilthetocal (4000 exp) and Baron Thelokassyil (AR2300; 105-834)(974 exp). Also kill the guards and you will be assisted by the rebels. Once they are all defeated, Prince Villynaty will thank you (60500 exp for each party member). He will give you the Sahuagin Treasury Key, which gives you access to the treasures and he will give you a Magical Rope, which helps you get to the Underdark. Go back to the former throne of the prince to find the entrance to the Underdark.

  2. Riddle of the Imps.
    You will meet some Imps surrounded with five chests. There is a person in front of each chest. The person will give you an item and will tell you what item he needs. Place the right item in the right chest as follows:

    1. AR2300; 447-2916: Elminster will give you a Scimitar but he needs an item to while away time's sand ..... PIPE

    2. AR2300; 815-2940: Drizzt will give you a Helmet but he needs an item with which he has vanquished many, one or two ..... SCIMITAR

    3. AR2300; 862-2819: Piergeiron will give you a Staff but he needs an item that symbolizes his rule ..... HELMET

    4. AR2300; 464-2782: Khelben will give you a Pendant but he needs an item that supplies his fondest name ... and an extra leg as he walks forth ..... STAFF

    5. AR2300; 656-2712: Alustriel will give you a Pipe but she needs a symbol of the sword bequeathed by her mother from her home in heaven ..... PENDANT

    Now open the sixth chest (AR2300; 619-3069) and get the Cloak of Protection+2 and the Boots of Etherealness (18500 exp for each party member).

THE UNDERDARK
(AR2100)

The story:
After helping Prince Villynaty to get back on the throne of Sahuagin City, you are being sent to the Underdark to collect your reward. Go to the north-west part of the area and you will meet three Gnome guards. Talk to Odendal Breachgnome (AR2100; 631-1180) and he will tell you that you may pass as long as you go see their Lord first (Svirfneblin Village Concerns - quest). When you're done in the Gnome village, go to the Dark Cave (AR2102) and talk to Adalon, the Silver Dragon. She has a quest for you as well. Her quest will lead you to the Drow city, Ust Natha. When you leave Ust Natha for the first time, near the entrance you will have to defeat Simbja (5000 exp), N'ashtar (4000 exp), Boz (6000 exp), Damien (4000 exp) and Chandrilla (4000 exp). They are posted near the entrance to Ust Natha. After a while, when you are walking near the tank at the entrance of the city, you will be addressed by a Duergar (AR2200; 1062-3150). He will tell you that his master wants to talk to you. Go stand close to the tank (AR2200; 803-3025) and talk to the Aboleth. He will give you a quest.

The quests:

  1. Svirfneblin Village Concerns.
    This quest will be triggered by talking to Odendal Breachgnome, who guards the entrance of the Gnome village. The first thing to do is to go talk to the Gnome Lord, Goldander Blackenrock (AR2100; 2034-843). He will ask you to kill a strange monster for them. In return, he will give you a Light Gem to find the way to Adalon, who can tell you how to access the Drow city. Goldander Blackenrock will give you a Stoneshape-scroll to collapse the tunnel after the monster is killed. Go to the north and talk to the Svirfneblin who guards the dangerous pit (AR2100; 3622-699). He will open the door to the pit. Enter the area and change into the Slayer. Click on the pit and a Balor appears (AR2100; 3426-505). Kill the Balor (26000 exp) and use the Stoneshape-scroll to lock the pit. Go back to Goldander Blackenrock to report your achievements. He will give you a Light Gem and a Skullcrusher+3.

  2. Svirfneblin son missing.
    Inside the Inn, you will find Therndle Daglefodd (AR2100; 1768-603). He will tell you that his son, Bedlen Daglefodd, is missing. Go to the center of the area and find a strange crystal with six facets. Clicking on the facets will release a trapped soul. The facets contain the following souls:

    Go back to Therndle Daglefodd and talk to him (10000 exp). He will give you Bracers of Defense, AC4.

  3. Recover the Silver Dragon's eggs.
    Go to the Dark Cave and talk to Adalon (AR2102; 1488-1490). She will ask you to recover her stolen eggs. She will promise you to give you a way out of the Underdark. To retrieve the eggs, you will have to go to the Drow city. Adalon will turn you into Drows and she tells you to use the name of Veldrin and to say that you are from Ched Nasad. Go to Ust Natha (AR2200) and the gate will open. The guard will ask you your name and where you from. Tell him you are Veldrin from Ched Nasad and he will let you in. He tells you to first meet Solaufein at the Male Fighter's Society. Go to the Male Fighter's Society to the north and meet Solaufein outside (AR2200; 3538-1647). He will tell you to meet him and the Handmaiden at the entrance platform. Go to the entrance of the city and you will meet Solaufein (AR2200; 1539-3319) and Imrae (AR2200; 1397-3380). They will tell you that Matron Mother's daughter has to be rescued from the illithids. They tell you to meet at the gates of Illithid city within 12 hours. Illithid city is to the south-east of the Underdark. You will meet Solaufein (AR2100; 4711-3101) and he will tell you that he will get the Illithids from their astral plane. Kill all the enemies but make sure you don't harm Phaere and Solaufein (20000 exp). Phaere will go back to the city and Solaufein will follow her. He will tell you to come back to the city and to meet him at the entrance. So, go back to the cuty and talk to Solaufein. Imrae tells you then that you have to go to the Tavern and see Phaere. Also Solaufein has to report to her. Go to the Tavern and talk to Phaere. She will thank you for rescuing her and she tells you that she has another task for you. She tells you to meet her at the city entrance but only after a few days so you can have some time for yourself. If you honour their request, you will be lead through a couple of quests before you can get to the Dragon's eggs. The easiest way to complete this quest is to just kill everyone in the Drow city. When done, go to the Temple of Lolth and find the egg-room. You have to kill some Stone- and Clay Golems (8000 exp each). Take the eggs (AR2201; 2088-338) and return to Adalon, the Silver Dragon. Give the eggs to Adalon (78500 exp for each party member) and she will give you Necaradan's Crossbow+3. She will now teleport you to an area where Elves are living (AR2402). 

  4. Retrieve Qilue's brain.
    The Aboleth, who is trapped inside a tank at the entrance of the city, will ask you to get Qilue's brain. Qilue can be found on the second floor of the Female Fighters' Society. Go there and kill Qilue (4000 exp) and the Drow Servants (10000 exp / each). Take the brain from Qilue's remains and return to the Aboleth in his tank. He will take the brain from you and he will keep your identity a secret as a reward (10000 exp).

THE ELVEN CITY
(AR 2500)

The story:
After returning the eggs to Adalon, you will be teleported to an area near the Elven city (AR2402). There are a couple of foes to take care of here. Once they are all killed, Adalon will leave you and you can go to the next area (AR2401). Here, you will be addressed by a War-Elf. He tells you to go see their leader Elhan. Go to the Elven city (AR2500) and talk to Elhan (AR2500; 832-1095). He will put you through a kind of test to see if you speak the truth. After that, he will ask you for a favor. He tells you that someone, who travels with Irenicus, has stolen an artifact from the Elves. He wants you to get it back and he tells you to go find some allies to fight that person. When you bring the lanthorn back to Elhan, he will take you to the entrance of Suldanessellar, the Elven city (AR2600). Enter Suldanesselar (AR2800) and Elhan will tell you to go see Queen Ellesime of High Priestess Demin. They can tell you how to find Irenicus. Go to Demin's House (AR2801) and first kill the guard, Raamilat (AR2800; 522-2485), who is standing in front of the house (16000 exp). Loot his body for a Mislead-scroll and a Quarterstaff+1. Go inside the house and kill the enemies. Talk to Priestess Demin and she will tell you that the city can only be saved with the help of the avatar of the Elven God. She will ask you to summon the avatar for her. After you have summoned the Avatar, go to the Palace (AR2804). You will see a tree (AR2804; 1353-883). Pick the nuts from the tree by clicking on it twice. Go through the door and examine the statues. Complete the first statue (AR2804; 287-883) with the Stone Harp (3000 exp). The Harp can be found inside the Harpist's House (AR2811). Complete the second statue (AR2804; 186-590) with the Stone Horn (3000 exp). The Horn can be found inside the House of the Horn (AR2802). The water in the pool will be drained and a stairway will appear. Go down the stairs and find the parasites (AR2804; 3863-2030)(AR2804; 1420-172)(AR2804; 1192-1448). Kill all three the parasites to disconnect Irenicus from the tree. You will be teleported to the center where Irenicus is. Kill Irenicus. You will die too and you will end up in Hell where the last part of the story takes place.

The quests:

  1. The Elven city requires my aid.
    Elhan, the leader of the Elves, asks you to retrieve the Rhynn Lanthorn from Bodhi. Only then, you will be able to get to Irenicus. He also tells you to find some allies to help you fight Bodhi. He will give you Elven Holy Water and Wooden Stakes to help you on your quest.
    First go to the Docks District in Athkatla. You will be ending up in an in-between area (AR2601 in my case), where you will meet Drizzt Do'Urden (AR2601; 684-329) and his friends Bruenor, Catti Brie, Wulfgar and Regis. Don't be offensive and tell him you once met briefly when you helped him fight some Gnolls at Baldur's Gate. Then ask him if he wants to help you fight Bodhi. He will agree and he will meet you inside the crypts of the Graveyard area. Continue your way to the Docks. Go to the Shadow Thief Guildhall and talk to Aran Linvail (AR0307-4602-2052), the Shadowmaster. He will ask you to kill Bodhi. Tell him that you will need some help to do that and Aran will tell you that he sends his best assassins to the crypt.
    Now go to the Temple District in Athkatla. Enter the High Hall of the Radiant Heart and talk to Prelate Wessalen (AR0903; 350-588). Ask him to help you with your fight against Bodhi. He will send his people to the crypt.
    Now, make sure that you rest so your party is at full strength. Then go to the Graveyard area to face Bodhi. She will await you at the entrance of the area (AR0800; 1729-2122) and she will tell you to not follow Irenicus anymore. She'll disappear and leave some Vampires behind. Kill them all. Make sure you heal your party and then enter the crypt by using the entrance to the north-west (entrance to the lower tombs). You will meet Drizzt and his friends here. You will also meet the other allies in the tombs. Kill all the enemies and take the stairs down to the second level (AR0809). Kill Bodhi (AR0809; 1516-365) and her friends. Once Bodhi is dead, go to the small room to the north-east and use a Wooden Stake on her crypt (AR0809; 1713-114). This will put Bodhi to rest forever and it will release Imoen's soul. You will now have the Lanthorn and Bodhi's Black Heart in your inventory. Go back to Elhan (74500 exp for each party member) and he will eventually take you to the entrance of Suldanessellar (74500 exp for each party member).

  2. Getting inside the Palace in Suldanesselar.
    When you visit Priestess Demin (AR2801; 411-297), she will ask you to find three artifacts to summon the avatar of the Elven God. The artifacts that have to be found are a Goblet, the Talisman of Rillifane and a Moonblade. The items must be placed on a statue inside the Temple. 
    To find the Talisman of Rillifane, go to the Priest's House (AR2810) and find the Elven Priest Stone in one of the cabinets. Read the text on the stone and remember the order. Now go to the House of the Talisman and click on the strange device at the right side of the room. Enter the runes in the correct order (Corellan Lotharian - Rillifane - Water - Tree of Life - Suldanessellar) and you will get the Talisman of Rillifane.
    To get the Moonblade, just go to the House of the Moon (AR2808) and you will see an Elf fighting a Balor. Wait until the fight is over and then loot the corpse of the Elf and find the Moonblade.
    To get the Goblet, go to the north-east en d leave the area to get to the Forest Clearing (AR2807). You will encounter Nizidramanii'yt, the black dragon (AR2807; 445-777). He has the Golden Goblet of Life and you can kill him to get it. The dragon is very hard to defeat however. If you can't succeed to kill the dragon, you can also try to bargain with him. Tell him that you will offer him more than Irenicus and he will tell you to give him everything you have for the Goblet. If you choose for this option, first make sure that you store all your equipment in a safe place. The dragon will take all your money and give you the Golden Goblet of Life eventually.
    Now you got all the requested items, go to the Temple of Rillifane and place the three items on the Altar (AR2803; 480-470). Rillifane will appear and tells you that you will have to defeat Irenicus (65000 exp for each party member). He will open the gates to the Palace for you and he will kill all Irenicus' allies who are wandering around in the city.

HELL
(AR 2900)

The story:
After your battle with Irenicus, yo and your party members will die as well. You wake up in Hell and you are all healed again. You are standing in front of the Abyssal door which won't open yet. Go to west and go down the stairs to a new area (AR2905). You will meet Saravok here (AR2905; 517-599). He will tell you that you need the Five Tears of Bhaal to open the Abyssal door. Behind that door is Irenicus. Kill Saravok (20000 exp) and you will receive the first tear. Return to the main area and now go down the stairs to the south-west to come to the volcano area (AR2903). You will meet Greed who will give you the Blackrazor. Continue your path to the west and you will encounter an Enslaved Genie. Give him the Blackrazor (20000 exp) and he will give you the second tear. Return to the main area again and now go down the stairs to the south to get to the next area (AR2904). You will encounter Selfish (AR2904; 876-591). He will ask you to make a choice between offering a companion or offering some of your skills. He will take one of your party members and you have to make a choice. Take the left path and go through the three doors. It will cost you two hit points, 1 dexterity point and some experience points but you will get your companion back. Besides that, you will receive the third tear (20000 exp). Examine the big rock to find 914 Gold and 3x Potion of Extra Healing. Go back to the main area again. No go down the stairs to the south-east to get to the next area (AR2901). You will meet Fear (AR2901; 409-395). He will offer you a cloak to protect you from fear. Don't accept it and send a thief and someone who has spells against fear down the south passage. Have the thief disarm and unlock the chest to get 4x Potion of Extra Healing, 5x Potion of Fire Giant Strength and 5x Potion of Invulnerability. Double click the vault at the end of the passage (AR2901; 998-786) and take the fourth tear from it. Return to the main area again. Go down the stairs to the east to get to the last area (AR2902). You will meet Pride (AR2902; 620-770). He will ask you to kill a monster just because. Refuse this and tell him that you don't kill anyone just because he stands in your way. Pride will go away. Go further and you will encounter a dragon (AR2902; 1026-583). Talk to the dragon and you will receive the fifth tear.
Go to the Abyssal door and click on it to get immunity for weapons+1 or less. A second click will grant you + 10% magic resistance. A third click grants you + 2 saving throws. A fourth click gives you + 20% resistance to Fire, Cold and Electricity. A fifth click gives you + 1 Wisdom and + 1 Charisma. The door will now open and Irenicus will appear for the final battle. Kill him to end this game.
