Xbase++
- Xbase++ is fully compatibel with Clipper 5.2x on the language level.
This makes it possible for the first time to migrate existing Clipper
solutions without code changes to modern 32 bit environments. Xbase++
provides intelligent and automatic multithreading leading to more scalable
and performing applications which automatically exploit the power of SMP
environments. Xbase++ delivers native 32 bit Code, which adheres to the
object file format of the underlying platform, and hence is not restricted
by any limits. Xbase++ decouples the language level from the database
level by introduction of the concept of dynamically exchangeable database
engines. This concept allows for the simultaneous usage of i.e. dbf-files
and relational databases. Xbase++ is based on an object oriented
programming model, which delivers features like multiple inheritance,
encapsulation and polymorphism on the language level. Well known Clipper
classes like Get and TBrowse are implemented on that object model and
offer al means of inheritance.
