RENARD OIL

Renard

Garage Renard in Holland have developed (with 3rd party help) a substitute for LHM plus oil, which is used for the hydraulic system of some Citroens (DS, SM, CX, GS, BX, XM, Xantia), Maseratis (Bora, Merak, Quattroporte mk2), Mercedes (topline models, only rear) and Rolls Royces (also rear only). The "Renard" blue oil has the same mineral ingredients as the LHM plus oil, but there are some differences. The blue oil is a little thinner than LHM, which results in softer suspension and faster and easier rise of the car when starting. The blue oil is better lubricating, which results in less wear on the pump and valves of the hydraulic system. The third difference is that the blue oil is capable of handling temperatures down to minus 45 degrees celcius, which means that the car's suspension has nearly the same comfortable soft suspension when the engine is cold or warm.
Of course it's not all sunshine with the blue oil; When this oil is installed when the car has still warranty, you will lose your warranty. This is very unlikely to happen since the only garage which can install this blue oil is garage "RENARD" and they will not put blue oil in a car which is still under warranty. Citroen is just too stubbern to admit the blue oil is far superior than the cheap Total LHM plus oil. Or more likely, it's Citroen politics to support french companies (Total, Michelin).
I have my LHM drained from my car and have the blue oil inserted. The suspension is much softer, which is easy detectable since I have a BREAK (estate) with harder suspension than a BERLINE (hatchback). Since my car is already 10 years old, I like it a lot that the wear on my old pump and valves is reduced, so I can own the car for more years, without big hydraulics costs

Now also for sale outside Holland! I have made a deal with Renard and am able to sell the blue oil anywhere in the world, except Holland. The price for a liter is NLG 12,50 (about $5). Which is actually cheaper than LHM and a lot cheaper than LHM+. This is of course excluding postage. I sell in 5 liter cans.
