OBJECT VERSUS PIXELS
	Conference	6th and 7th of December 1996, De Balie, Amsterdam

A conference and online forum on actual themes in contemporary art. An important issue will be the tension between the conventional and the virtual arts. During this conference there will be about eight round table discussions between world's finest artists, writers, critics, programmers and filmers on the evergrowing schism between these disciplines.	The discussions will be concentrated on the virtual dream versus the digital nightmare, conventional obsessions and the post-post modern hype, nostalgic cinema and artistic programming. You'll find them clicking on words as R-Art, Wargasm, Brains, Adds, Lust, Cinema, Samples and Quake.	The conference questions the status of the art-object, confronting it with the virtual world. What is a picture?
