Welcome to my website! I'm Tamar Comis and I live in Arnhem, the Netherlands and I'm 33 years old. When I left home to life on my own I was 17 years old and studying animal care at an institute in Barneveld. I bought my first fancy mice, from my rodent teacher to keep me company. Immediately I fell in love with these lovely pet mice.

The Website

This website is all about pet mice. Now we have about 9 adult fancy mice. After breeding several different colours we decided to stop temporarily with mice. Now six months later I started with 9 new fancy mice.

I wrote a short piece about pygmy mice and harvest mice, with our experience of keeping these mice. There’s a piece about housing, feeding, care, handling and breeding. We don't have any harvest mice at the moment.

Mimosa

The name ‘Mimosa muizen’ is inspired by a poem from a Dutch book called "Pim en Pomnibus" by Mies Bouhuys. As a child I loved this poem so I used the name Mimosa for my site. Mimosa is also a scientific name of a genus of plants. The second part of the name “muizen” is the Dutch word for mice.
