All drive connections supported
The very accurate and fast recovering, enabled by the proprietary Recovery Engine, will surprise you. Scanning, detecting and recovering of files in one go is at least as fast as normal loading of files. Up to 15 MB/sec with a CF card.*
Supported is any connection with a drive letter, like all readers, cameras, cards, sticks, CD/DVD, USB, PCMCIA, FireWire, etcetera.
The only limitation in size is the free space on your system disk.

Remarks
Devices with COM port connections like Kodak Easy Connect do not have an assigned drive letter and therefore are not supported. To install just the driver for Kodak cameras, run the EasyShare install disk, select custom install and install only the "Camera Connection Software". You will not get any of the EasyShare software or the automatic transfer, but your camera will be recognized by the computer and show up in Windows as a hard disk with a drive letter.
Windows and most cameras are using a quick format. Not the whole medium is wiped but only the directory entries. After formatting, files on the media are retrievable with a high rate of success.

However, a few camera models perform a full format, destroying all the information on the media. then after a (re)format, restoring is impossible anyhow! In these cases avoid the in-camera formatting and use deleting files.
When formatting is desired, use the command line 'format' with Windows9x or with later versions of Windows the format option with a right click on the drive in My Computer.
Using SMprep.exe will also destory all the information and files are no longer retrievable.
Taking new pictures or otherwise writing on the medium will limit a reclaim of the former contents.
