|Caribbean Princess is an extended "Grand - class" ship. By applying innovative design solution and construction techniques, it has been possible to add an extra passenger deck. The additional deck is the result of a modification to the design of the ship. The last two decks are constructed in aluminium. Designed for year-round Caribbean cruises. For that reason there is no megadrome enclosed pool area. It was the first cruise ship with an outdoor theater called as "Movies under the Stars".|

|March 16-2012 Problems with one of the propulsion motor, caused the ship to cut its most recent sailing short, and according to a statement from Princess Cruises, it has also prompted the line to cancel two subsequent sailings schearduled for March 18 and March 25.|
|March 19-2017 Renovations are set to begin on 26 March for a two-week period, and will see the vessel equipped with a variety of new offerings such as the Camp Discovery Youth & Teen Centre. The upgrade will feature a new HD Movies Under the Stars outdoor cinema screen, the addition of 3,200 Princess Luxury Beds to its cabins, as well as 87 new interconnecting staterooms to offer additional room for family members.|
