Sept. 7-2012 JEWEL OF THE SEAS hit a high voltage power cable on the approach to Klaksvig harbour in the Faroe Islands. A small part of the ship's mast was severed and fell to the deck below, hitting a crew member in the process. The injured crew member was initially treated in the ship's hospital but has since been moved to a hospital ashore. His condition is unknown. She apparently hit several power cables and not only the mast was damaged, but one of the funnel exhaust pipes as well.
