Sistership: Midnatsol

The Trollfjord and sister Midnatsol will be modern in design with extensive use of Norwegian wood, stone and art in its interior decoration and large expanses of glass to bring nature and light into the public areas. The top deck will have large observation lounges with panoramic views and a sauna and fitness room near the expanded outdoor area. Elevators will be made of glass. The library will display art by Norway's Kaare Espolin-Johnson. The ship will have a dining room, a modern cafe/bistro and an eight-room conference area. Four of the bright colorful cabins will be wheelchair-accessible. There are 21 suites on the Trollfjord, eight with private balcony. The mix includes grand suites, suites, mini-suites, deluxe and standard cabins.
Wednesday 9 May 2007 MS Trollfjord hit ground in Raftsundet, Lofoten. The ship and passengers are safe in Svolvær, but due to the grounding the sailing Svolvær-Bergen is cancelled. Hurtigruten ASA has also desided to cancel the sailing Bergen-Kirkenes-Bergen 12 to 23 May.
