I've bought my first modem in 1989 so this is the year it has begun! :-)
After calling different Bulletin Board Systems, I decided setup and operate my own BBS in February 1990. Click here for more information about this BBS.

Compuserve / Internet
Because Ton Ensink and Eline van Gelder decided to emigrate to Vancouver, B.C., Canada, he explained me a lot of things about Compuserve and the Internet. In this way it would be very easy (and cheap) to keep contact. For that moment this was the main reason to become a member of Compuserve. It didn't take a long time to find my own way in these new ways of data-communication and found out other things as well to make contact with people sharing the same interests and friends all over the world.
During summer 1995, Matty Meijers, showed me a lot about the Internet. In this way, I was able to explore new things about this medium.
Ton and Matty: Thanks for all your support!
Of course software is needed to explore the Internet. Click here to find out which software I'm currently using.
On regular intervals, new tools are implemented to make it more comfortable to search for items on the Internet. Click here for a list of services I'm frequently using.

Click here for links to friends who seem to be grown up with a modem ;-).
Drop a note if you want to inform me about one of these topics.
