Since 1986 I'm suffering diabetes type 1 (insulin dependent). Because of the progression in diagnostic devices (BG-meters etc.) and education, diabetics have the ability to take care of themselves in a much better way these days. It's great to see lots of messages in the diabetics forum of Compuserve (go diabetes) and in the USENET newsgroup MISC.HEALTH.DIABETES.
I've setup a forum about my switch to Humalog insulin. Feel free to enter it.
October 19, 1996 I've switched short acting insulin from Actrapid (NOVO NORDISK) to Humalog (Eli Lilly). I've made a logbook about this switch. There is also a Dutch version of this logbook available.
Since March 1997, I'm using the One Touch Profile BG-meter for diabetes control. I've got also a special serial cable to link this machine to my PC. A research about this is presented here.
