The Music
Africa, the origin of rhythm. Rhythm, the driving force of life and nature.
Passionate drum patterns keep rolling and moving. It's like an exchange game: solo instrumental questions are answered by other instruments.

Dawn
It's early in the morning, just before dawn.
You awake from a dream and are about to enter another. Nature awakes ... slowly at first, just sounds and faint rhythmic phrases on drums ... but soon the rhythms are getting more  complex and louder ... Suddenly everybody rushes by ... singing people going to the market  ... others rush off to their work ...  running and in a hurry before it is getting  to hot to do anything at all.
This could be Africa. Well, musically spoken.

Afrodesia
The title is a contraction between Africa and Aphrodisiac, a kind of stimulating love drug. Choosing this title kind of expresses my feelings for this 'forgotten' continent and my 'passion' for strong rhythmic music. Most modern pop music like blues, jazz, rock, pop, Trance and dance find their roots in African music. It is also said that the origin of mankind finds its roots in Africa .....

The meaning
I do not write music 'with a message', -like a protest song-, nor is my music politically engaged. But it tears my heart to pieces when looking at the bloody wars and battles of different tribes in Africa, the shortage of food and water, the sharp contrasts between wealth and poverty, the epidemic diseases ....
Think about this for a moment .... there could be an other dawn tomorrow ... You awake from a dream and are about to enter a nightmare ....
