About
This is an excerpt of a piece which
can be described as an ballad (songlike poem) and is characterized by the melancholic
melody played by
the piano, which plays a melodic phrase with slight variations in the first part. The
melody has its counterpart in the second part where the melody line is taken over by
another instrument and the open structure is taken over by more rhythmic accompaniment.
Finally the
poem unfolds itself in the third part where the climax (piano and other instruments play
in countermelody) is followed by a sort of conclusion. This part is not enclosed in this midi file!
I have titled
this song as "Mirror of the Past"
because
the melody in the first part (Piano) is somewhat introspective and reflective as if
someone is looking into the Mirror, seeing images of long gone times.
