It is inspired on "Romance", a late 16th century brilliant Guitar composition in G sharp (E minor) and is written for and "on" a Classical Guitar, exploring and making use of the instrument's typical  characteristics. A mixture of sostenuto, crescendo, accelerando, tremolo and apoyando techniques make the melody stand out against a fast tirando played accompaniment.
Notice the ritardando and accelerando techniques used in this midi file.

Bass and Strings are added to the background accompaniment to expand the tonal range and color palette.

Besides playing this piece on Guitar I've decided to digitize it into a General Midi recording. The challenge in this midi recording was to capture the "spirit" of this beautiful classical style guitar piece and prepare it for use on the WEB.
A few problems occurred; a characteristic element in Classical style of music is the use of a wide range of expression techniques like the ones mentioned above. Another problem wasn't of musical but rather of technical nature; when making music for use on the Internet I had to limit myself to the "standard", more or less budget type of soundcards (with strong limitations; only General Midi is one of them) used on most personal computers.

I've handled  both problems quite well; put some time in arranging and re-arranging and some more time in the finishing touch; yes, 10 percent inspiration and 90 percent transpiration again!
What else is new?
