For composing my music I use
some of the software described
below.
Most soundcards come with a bundle of software consisting of media players for
playback of music files in several formats, basic sequencing software for midi recording
and playback and basic wave editors for hard disk recording, wave editing, wave mixing and
Sound Effects.
These packages are an excellent way to start.
Of course more
professional alternatives are needed when extra tools, production speed and flexibility
are required.
