This Venezolano Valse no. 2 is composed by 19th Century composer Antonio Lauro from Venezuela. An ordinary waltz but its rhythm and scale in the second part reveals its South American influence. It is written for and "on" a Guitar making use of the instruments own characteristics. A mixture of apoyando and tirando techniques make the melody stand out against a South American colored accompaniment. Besides playing this piece on Guitar I've decided to digitize it to a General Midi recording. The challenge was to capture the "spirit" of this beautiful guitar piece.
