The subject of this site is my daughter and her
struggle to escape the limitations of her disabled body and to express
herself as the person she is.
Kiki 's disability was caused by lack of oxygen during birth:
-
she has only a very limited control over her limbs: when
your hands won't obey
-
she has problems to perceive, not in the eyes, but in the
brain to process visual information; this is called cortical
disorder of the visus;
-
she can't talk with her mouth, but she is very eager to communicate
and tell what on her mind. Dumb is not
stupid .

Kiki is very much mentally underestimated because of
her diabilities,but learning is
one of the great joys of her life.
This is an account of our approach, discoveries and ideas
who you can help a kid like Kiki whose central problem is not a limitation
of cognition (the capability to understand,make abstractions,etc),
but physical disabilities combined with perception problems. I am convinced
there are more kids like her, who don't get the chance to develop themselves,
because they are all to easily diagnosed as mentally retarded.
