The CI-CID spectrum library for LC-MS

Chemical ionization                     Collision induced dissociation

The goal of this RIZA project to improve the screening of surface and waste water, is to build and share a so-called CI-CID library with mass spectra of compounds ionized by Chemical Ionization (CI) and fragmented by Collision Induced Dissociation (CID). The library can be used by analysts working with GC-CI-MS/MS,  LC-MS and LC-MS/MS. The main advantage of the CI-CID–library is the independency of the chemical ionization and/or collision induced dissociation procedure and the system apparatus used.

At the moment the library has some hundreds of entries created by chemists of five different laboratories. The spreadsheet program, used to interchange the data between the laboratories, has full functionality of browsing. Spectra are presented in bar graph format and in tabular form. All input data, types of instrument, conditions etc. are viewable. After adding search masses of the (un)known compound all hits (total number and names) are available.
