Above left: An exultant mood prevails in the town. The airbornes also are content; there mission to take Eindhoven and to open the road is completed. Now they have to wait for the arrival of the British ground army. These heavily armed airbornes enjoy a well earned rest.( the one in the front carries, apart from his M-1 Garend rifle, a para-dagger, hand grenades and, on his back a machete)
Boven links: Een uitgelaten stemming krijgt de overhand in de stad Eindhoven. The para's zijn tevreden; hun missie Eindhoven in te nemen en de wegen vrij te maken voor de doortocht is geslaagd. Nu moeten ze wachten op de Britse grondtroepen. Deze zwaar bewapende para's genieten van een welverdiende rust. De voorste draagt een M-1 Garand geweer, een paradolk, handgranaten en op zijn rug een machete (kapmes)

This shows a group of Easy company soldiers in Eindhoven, Holland on September 18 , 1944. Although the photo comes from the Don Pratt Museum collection at Ft Campbell, it was most likely taken by a Dutch civilian. Included in the group are Amos Taylor (2nd left), McLaurin(?), Bill Kiehn (KIA in Alsace), and Campbell T. Smith. Jim Alley (2nd right) and Carwood Lipton (seen on the back)
Deze foto toont enkele soldaten van de Easy company op 18 September 1944. Hoewel de foto's uit het Don Pratt Museum in Fort Campbell komen, is die waarschijnlijk door een Eindhovens burger gemaakt.
