Skin warm
My mind is timeless
I can always keep up
But I'm struggling to keep hold
Of these slippery worls
While my body is growing old
Are you the firestorm
Are you the waterfall
Maybe the car crash
Being struck with awe
Or some other semi-poetic analogy
I've run out of stories
Just hit repeat and smile
Tomorrow you might be
Forgotten and ridiculed
By my own stark denial
But I want to whisper (your voice)
I want to scream
I want to confess
That I have been affected again, lost again
And I want it now
God, you are so beautiful
You make my heart race
You make my throat dry
You make my stomach ache
You make my skin warm
I want to touch your lips
I want to touch your fingertips
I want to smell your hair
I want your silken skin
I want to do what I do best
You are so beautiful
You make my voice soft
You make my eyes linger
You make a fool out of me
You make my skin warm
Maybe only for today
Yesterday and tomorrow
But you made my skin warm
