Hoss and Kaya

Crazy?.......I aint crazy!....I'm having FUN!! (Hoss)

Hoss and Kaya (the twins) are brother and sister and the siblings of Pipo, their halfbrother. These albino twins were born on my birthday. They are now about 4 months old. Hoss is a big fellow and lives up to his name. Kaya is a small friendly girl. I got them as pups too.

WHAT are you doing over there?? (Kaya)

Even when the pups come from a good breeder, you, as the new owner need to continue their upbringing. This means, Litter training, learning them not to bite, socializing with other ferrets. The whole 9 yards, almost as if you would raise a pupydog. If this idea does not agree with you, then perhaps a grown ferret from the shelter is not a bad idea for you.

I just KNOW i've hidden it here somewhere! (Hoss)

Hoss and Kaya Update!

(6 Oct. 2000)

Hoss has entered the puberty state of ferretdome. He's very anoying towards the other ferrets. Especialy Little Joe seems to be the victem. Just one more month and Hoss wel be neutered after that it the anoying Hoss will become his friendly self again. His sister Kaya does not seem to have to much trouble with puberty. She will be neutered in the coming spring.

Hoss Update
(22 Nov. 2000)

It has happened. On November 21st 2000 Hoss has been castrated and chiped while they were bussy anyway. I brought him in the moring around 9 am and half an hour later the job was done. He had an great sleepingtime at our Vet. At the end of the day I picked him up again. He slept a lot that day because of the naroses off course. But today he was his old self again. He dooked and played as if nothing ever happened.

Kaya Update
(1 March 2001)

Kaya and her fostersister Sventa were Castrated yesterday. Yes that's right, castrated, not sterilized. They have taken away everything to do with reprocucing. If you leave something behind then the hormones can still do their job and that is not good for any pet, and most certainly not for ferrets. When a female comes in heat, she stayes in heat untill she mates, if she doesn't it won't go away and she could die from this. Not wiling to take the chance I had Kaya and Sventa Castrated, They were the last in the row so now all my pets are neutered. The Girls are doing fine. Yesterday they were a bit grogy but this morining they were running around again like nothing ever happend. I don't see us humans doing that after major surgery :o). In ten day's the stiches will be removed and then only a bald belly reminds them of the operation.

Hoss and Kaya were born on May 13th 2000.
